I would say no. But the question isn't did Martin threaten Incognito.

Right. At the same time, I don't know you. And I questioned you on it. I say, no harm no foul. So what stopped Martin from originally questioning Incognito? That's why, if I was a GM I would definitely pass on Martin.

Even if the facts are closer to what Incognito claims than Martin's agent. Than what Martin did is worse but not all that different than what Randy Moss did in Oakland or Brandon Marshall did during the preseason of 2008.

So I wouldn't use a draft pick or commit guaranteed money.  But if I can get a decent player that just needs a therapist to help him cope with some issues, I would bring him into camp, get him the help he needs and give him a second chance.

Problem is Martin just turned into a Tim Tebow type. Wherever he goes it will be a circus like atmosphere with the media. A huge distraction for any team that signs him

Fixed that for you. Even the above is a bit of a stretch as it seems the conversation was actually between Ireland and his agent, not between Ireland and Martin. I doubt that Martin ever talked to Ireland about it.
1) Ireland is "the team," at least as much as Philbin.
2) A player's agent bringing an issue to the general manager is, if anything, MORE significant than Martin having a casual conversation with his position coach.  Player -> agent -> general manager is formal, documented escalation.  The next step would be to go to the NFLPA.

Fair enough even if I disagree on both counts to a degree. Still my understanding is that this didn't happen until AFTER he walked out on the team. I still say this is what should have happend:
1 ) Martin himself talks with Richie Incognito and/or Leadership council.
2 ) Martin himself talks with position coach.
3 ) Martin himself talks with Offensive Coordinator
4 ) Martin himself talks with Head Coach.
5 ) Martin talks with his Agent who talks with Jeff Ireland
6 ) Agent talks with NFLPA
7 ) Agent talks with NFL
8 ) Agent/Player sue Dolphins/NFL/NFLPA for doing nothing.

I can see Martin walking out on the Dolphins only after getting rebuffed at every step up to and including #5. If it comes out in the NFL investigation that Martin did this or at least attempted to do this PRIOR to walking out on the Dolphins, then he's blameless. If not, then he's at least partially to blame for this mess. If he did ANY of the above and got no where, then the Dolphins are partially to blame as well.

Makes me wonder how much the position coaches did know though, since one of the Oline coaches just quit in the midst of all this. Just thinking out loud, but the timing is suspect. -EK

Jay Glazer confirmed that he actually saw the text too.

If this is true, and I believe it is, Martin should be sued by Incognito and the Dolphins organization and Richie should be back in uniform ASAP. This whole thing is ridiculous.

Bingo....no reason he should continue to be suspended for this so called bullying if it turns out to be a long going back and forth game between two so called friends.

Let's get some facts straight....

1) The assistant o-line coach (Chris Mosley) left the team on family leave in early October LONG BEFORE any of this Martin-Incognitio stuff broke
2) The assistant o-line coach has a serious family emergency which caused him to then officially leave the team and his job, nothing at all to do with this situation whatsoever

Good lord you're dense. Love your use of the phrase "get some facts straight." You have no better knowledge of why he officially left than I do. It's all speculation; not one fact. He may have decided his family situation needed a full-time commitment...

OR

He may have decided he wanted no part of the shit storm Miami May weather when the NFL gets to the bottom of all this, and had an easy out with his current family situation. You have no clue. Facts straight." That's comical. -EK

FOX releasing more from the Glazer/Incognito interview.  Richie stating... (From FOX)

Incognito says the story Martin paid $15k for a Vegas trip he didnt take is untrue. Said Martin paid $10k for a future trip w/ entire O-Line

That still presents the question as to why Martin has already paid $10k for a trip he purportedly doesn't want to go on.  (Disputing the amount at this point is like Brandon Marshall's wife clarifying that she only stabbed him two times, not three.)

Wasn't the story earlier that Martin cancelled at the last minute?  When is this "future" trip?

Lydon Murtha (or another player) I believe said he was told that Martin paid for the trip then canceled last minute after the money was already spent. So Martin couldn't get his money back.

So the "money was already spent" (by September) for a trip that is happening, at the very earliest, in February 2014?  Hmmm.

I don't know if I would classify six months in advance as a "last minute cancellation."

yeah I don't know all the details on that. I do know a private jet is involved so maybe the money can't be gotten back for that. But not sure of the timeline really.
