Worst idea ever.  Nothing to gain, everything to lose.

Well Ross was texting with Jonathan Martin last week it came out giving him support (i love the fact nobody makes phone calls these days). I expect Ross to say he supports Martin and feels bad. And if the investigation shows there was wrong-doing by anyone in the organization he will remove them from their position.  I mean what else can he say

He can say NOTHING and keep his damn mouth SHUT!! Miami needs to let the story die not talk about it more.

Ross has no part in this and should say nothing.  He has nothing to gain, but probably thinks he's going to "clear the air"

Can't wait to see what Martin's agent/lawyer has instructed him to say on this video.  Maybe they will make him read a prepared PR statement off cue cards.  Martin speaking is worthless until the media gets to ask questions.

Martin's lawyer said he will just be speaking into a camera and nobody will be there to ask him questions.

I can see why Ross wants to speak and I have no problem with it as long as he keeps it short and doesn't say anything stupid

Ross holding a press conference right now (before his interview later on tonight)....here are some of the highlights

Steve Ross said he has a 5 people committee now and will expand it to 7 to create a code of conduct for the Dolphins.

Ross: When you can't pick up paper, watch TV without hearing about this. When things like that happen you know change is needed.

Ross: We're going to make sure we're the best organization in the National Football League

Tony Dungy, Don Shula, Jason Taylor, Curtis Martin, Dan Marino are on the committee to assess the team's policies, Ross said.

"I apologize to the fans for being in this position, but I know we'll be better coming out of this," Ross said.

Ross: We haven't wanted to rush to judgment, we want all the facts to come in.  I've been silent.

Ross says he doesn't want to make excuses and wants "to make our workplace the best workplace in NFL."

Ross: I knew if we did our own investigation it wouldn't have credibility... independent investigation was important.

Ross said: "There isn't a better person,... more caring person in the National Football League than Joe Philbin."

There's another committee - Garfinkel, Philbin, Aponte, Ireland that has been formed  - to "make sure standards are being enforced."

Ross said he wants to hear from JM what happened, why it happened.

Ross: I'm meeting with JM on Wednesday. I am not going to disclose where meeting is.

So less open then Richie Incognito has been recently. That's telling.

You mean like when Richie was asked a question he didn't like and he said it was a legal matter and couldn't discuss it??

I think Ross is handling things pretty well.  It doesn't bother me that he is the owner of the Dolphins.  Other than a few relatively harmless early mistakes, he is on par with the kind of owner I would like us to have.

Let's be clear here...  It is the media that is distroying the team, not Martin, Incognito, the coaches, the GM, the owner and it isn't even the fans.  It is the fact that the media is presenting information without context on a relentless basis and they have made their unwise judgements and created their own little list of unjustified accusations.  Foolishness!

There is almost an element of wickedness in what I am seeing transpire and I am proud that our team is not participating in it!
