Armando Salguero lays it out beautifully here

http://www.miamiherald.com/2013/11/12/3747622_p2/armando-salguero-miami-dolphins.html

I'm 100% on board with this line of thinking.  Keeping Ireland around cost this team a chance at Jim Harbaugh, Jeff Fisher, and Peyton Manning.  Now if you keep Philbin around, you'll lose a chance to get a reputable GM.  Time to blow up the whole thing and start from scratch again.

^^^ +1

Anyone else find it ironic that the same year that MIA completely revamps their entire look and logo, the whole team goes in the shitter?

This shit storm has been brewing a while......from the debacles with Fireland, the rejects they have had at head coach, the under performing FAs they've brought in, some of their draft selections, etc.

I agree that we just go nuclear and start from scratch and bring back the original logo!!!!

My friends, its time to go nuclear. After the season is over. If it was only possible to fire an owner.

I disagree with Armando.  The reason we appear to be rudderless is because our players don't have the brain power to learn how to do their job at a high level.  We lack in talent and the primary lack of talent is in intellect because our GM has absolutely no ability to look at the smarts of a person.  Ireland only cares how big or fast a player is and simply gets lucky if they have a brain to go with it.

I think Philbin would be an excellent head coach with a good group of players, not a bunch of boneheads.  Get rid of Ireland and Sherman, revamp the O-line and stop listening to the media!

BTW - I hate the media!!!

I'm sorry but if you get rid of Ireland you have to get rid of Philbin.  Fish rot from the head on down and this team is doing the same.  Last night's game showed every reason not only why Jeff Ireland should be on his way out but also why Joe Philbin and his coaching staff should follow him out the door.

Along with a shitty offensive line (which I must mention was shitty before this bullying mess) you have a team that's undisciplined (which is how bullying scandals and extreme locker room pranks happen), seems low on football IQ and has failed to develop over the course of the season.

Blame the media and the distractions all you want.  In the end, this goes back to Jeff Ireland and the front office (who bought the groceries) and Joe Philbin and his coaching staff (who can't cook them). The NFL isn't out to get the Dolphins, and the media doesn't want to destroy them either.  Even if they did, they wouldn't have to lift a goddamn finger. Last night's game proved once again that the Dolphins are capable of destroying themselves.

I disagree with Armando completely, he always has a bug up his you know where for the current management.  SOME changes do need to be made in the assistant coaches, as they are not getting enough out of the current players.  I think Ireland could be dumped without much of an effect on the team, but I'm not sure if that is the answer.  If Keller was not injured this could be a much better team.  If Bush was not dumped this would be a much better team.  Perhaps the Long re-signing could have been handled differently to retain him, maybe not.  In spite of some mistakes Philbin has made I'm not ready to give up on him yet, I think that would be a HUGE mistake at this point.

I don't agree with this at all.  They don't come from the same place, didn't come at the same time, and really have no connection to each other.

Ireland predates Philbin by several years, with an entirely different regime.

If you think Bush would run with success behind this oline you are crazy. No RB is running behind this o-line and having success.

He ran better than both the guys currently on the roster when he was here, AND he can catch the ball, AND he could certainly block better.  I GUARANTEE he would have had more than two yards last night.  Thomas looks like Ronnie Brown in his last year here.  It simply amazes me that Thomas is even still on the roster.

Let's be honest with ourselves here. Bush is averaging 4.7 per carry. Miller 4.5 (including the horrible games of last night and Cleveland). The real issue is Miami does not have enough carries.

Let's be COMPLETELY honest- Bush also has over 300 receiving yards and is just a hair under 1000 yards from scrimmage already. He's still miles ahead of any RB on Miami's roster, and his pass blocking is sorely missed. -EK

Our discussion is not about receiving or blocking. It was about rushing stats so I focused the conversation there. If you want arguments over blocking ability or receiving stats you aren't getting one here. Try someone else.

You can't even talk about RBs.  It's not even relevant.  Whoever gets the ball is getting hit in the backfield.  Our O-line is doing very little in pass protection and nothing against the run.

A good line can make a bad RB look good.
But a good RB can't make a line look good.

Wtf? Are you shitting me? Masterfin's exact quote was, "He ran better than both the guys currently on the roster when he was here, AND he can catch the ball, AND he could certainly block better.

So, yes, receiving and blocking were absolutely part of the discussion. Just because Bush is great at them and that doesn't support your perspective doesn't mean it's not part of the discussion. -EK
