One thing I find odd about Dungy is no mention of his playing in the NFL.  He is only one of three people to win a superbowl as both a player and head coach.

George Young should be in. Marvin Harrison MUST get in. Michael Strahan MUST get in.

I think Walter Jones and Joe Jacoby have a good shot to get in.

Morten Anderson, Don Coryell, Dungy, Tagliabue, Roger Craig, Terrell Davis have no shot of getting in.

To early for Strahan, & I don't see Harrison getting in yet either.  DeBartolo should get in, but won't.  I see Jacoby, Reed, & Young making it.

too early?? That makes no sense to me. You either ARE you are AREN'T a hall of fame player.

No way Reed gets in period, he wasn't a hall of fame WR. And no way he ever gets in before Harrison

Totally agree.  I hate all this "first time ballot" crap.  Either you make the HOF or you don't.  There shouldn't be levels of acceptance.

Well if that were true then every player would only have one year of eligibility to enter the Hall.

Jimmy Johnson isn't going in as a college coach, but listed as one of his accomplishments was winning a both a SB and a major college conference.

While Dungy the player by itself is not HOF worthy.  And Dungy the coach is iffy, that he won a ring in both capacities adds to his case vs. his coaching alone.

Trivia question.  Who were the other two?

What about Derrick Brooks? I see him getting in and joining the Bucs only two other Defensive Players of the Year, Sapp and Selmon, in the HOF.

-11 time Pro-Bowl
-9 Time All Pro
-Started 221 of 224 games

I see your point but it was still part of coaching football, not playing. I would say that if Jimmy had played they would not mention it much the same as they didn't with Dungy!!!!!!

Not very many people know about Tom Flores

He didn't play at all in the post season and only had one attempt during the regular season for KC.  So it is pretty easy to over look.

Flores is mere trivia, yes he has the ring as a player, but it is equally true to say that Rohan Davey has two superbowl rings as a QB.
