His suspension has been extended with pay.  This tells me he is done in Miami regardless of the results of the investigation

This comes as absolutely no surprise. The CBA limits the number of games a player can be suspended without pay for "Conduct Detrimental" to four games. The Jets game will be the fourth.

The Dolphins and Incognito have reached an agreement to continue the suspension, but with pay. Given the CBA wording and the still-ongoing investigation by Wells, there was no way the Dolphins could continue to avoid paying Incognito.

He was done in Miami before this news. Ross wasn't letting him back on the roster. His contract is up in a month, he was never coming back.

From what I hear Ross is the only one. Even the people in the building want Richie back but Ross doesn't because of bad publicity.  He isn't fit to be an NFL owner. He will always make the wrong decisions because he has no balls and no morals. He flaps back and forth in panic mode all the time trying to make people happy.  It's a dangerous place to be when you have no compass from which to navigate and it will continue to affect the team much more than this story.

Ross is right on this. Why bring him back at this point? It opens him up to a huge lawsuit if any of Martin's claims are legit.  Just pay Incognito for a month, then he is a free agent and gone forever.

I'm not so sure. I still think it depends on what the investigation determines. If Incognito is cleared of pretty much all wrongdoing, I still think it would be possible for Miami to bring him back to the team. They may not either way, but I think it's still possible.

The investigation won't be over till the season is long over. Plus Ross isn't bringing him back. Richie has played his last game for Miami.

No way. They can't keep dragging this out. This isn't a criminal investigation. This is a fact finding investigation. Honestly they should already be done with the investigation now and just putting together the report.

Drag what out, this investigation has essentially just started!!  They still have to talk to a few players on other teams then do a 2nd round of interviews with a few Dolphins players and Martin/Incognito. This is gonna go a while. Even if Richie is found 100% innocent of THIS with Martin tomorrow....Ross isn't taking him back. He ain't ever playing again for Miami. This was the straw that broke the camels back. This on top of everything else with him has ended his career in Miami even if he is innocent. He's done here! It's over. Richie is gone and will be a FA in a month. He isn't playing this year.

Mort reported on ESPN this morning that Philbin pushed to gut Incognito after the golfing incident but he was only a few months into the job and was overridden (Ireland I assume).

Ireland has total control and final say over all roster moves.

Bottom line is the o-line, while still not good by any stretch of the imagination, hasn't gotten any worse and may be slightly better without both Richie and Martin.

And it's pretty much over.

"NFL investigator Ted Wells wants to issue a report on the Dolphins’ bullying scandal within 10 days, according to a Fox report."

http://www.miamiherald.com/2013/12/03/3793127/miami-dolphins-still-searching.html

And something interesting I read:

"For now, there’s an emerging sense that Incognito ultimately will be vindicated by Wells’ investigation.  Which will create an awkward situation for Martin, the Dolphins, and the NFL."

That was quick. I am sure the report will come out right before the Pittsburgh game Sunday (or something will leak on Saturday or Sunday) and totally be a distraction this weekend.

I'm more convinced now then ever before that almost everyone from the Dolphins who played with Richie Incognito disputed the fact that he bullied Martin and that includes Jake Long. These are the guys who were in the locker room and saw what was going on day to day. Jay Glazer saw the text messages and stated emphatically that the text messaging went both ways between Martin and Incognito. What's left to investigate? That Incognito did something stupid when he had a bit too much to drink at a golf tournament that has absolutely NOTHING to do with Martin's claims? Martin himself sent a text to Incognito after the scandal broke seemingly wishing him well. Reports are now coming out that Martin didn't even single out Incognito as the source of the bullying to Wells, that it was just the general locker room atmosphere that didn't sit right with him. Certainly Incognito was a part of that, but the ring leader? And he did it purposely? Knowingly trying to hurt Martin? I think the report is pretty much gonna exonerate Incognito of any wrong doing and only of poor judgement. Miami is going to have a VERY difficult decision on their hands whether or not to bring him back to the team. I suspect they'll try to hold off making that decision as long as possible and it could very will be they don't ultimately make that decision until after the year is over and after the story has all but dried up.
