Who ever the fuck's job it is to make sure the team shows up with the proper cleats.  We gave up one long TD pass because Jones slipped and couldn't recover to make the tackle downfield and almost gave up another typical bullshit Rapistberger miracle comeback because Clemons couldn't get any traction.

I don't know if "cleats for running in deep snow" exist.

There's a limit to equipment technology.

I think the thing that concerned me most was the poor angles and tackling on the numerous screen passes. It looked like players were struggling to get the outside edge secured when taking on their men, taking poor angles and blocking themselves out of the play etc and I think that has to go on the D coach.

Working from memory now so may be inaccurate but looking at the slant which went for a PIT TD, one guy (FS?) just waits for the lead blocker to run past him and tries to arm tackle from behind/side instead of driving into the blocker and securing the outside (he was already outside!). If the runner had to slow or change direction it would have allowed some of the other would be tacklers to make a play.

The play calling or the run blocking at the end of the game when you have the ball within the 10. You've got to get a touch down there and seal it.

I was listening to the guys on the radio and they said the same thing. There is no sure footing when the turf is frozen and spikes don't actually penetrate. It's an advantage to the offense if they can figure it out. Pitt is used to doing playing on it but in general players are almost on skates.

Having experience in those elements, there is not much you can do to improve footing. As for the turf itself being frozed, the field has an underground heating system that keeps the turf from being frozen.

My shame goes to the entire defensive unit for the lack of effort on the last play. Before the ball was snapped I was watching our guys meander around and think the game was already over. That lack of effort nearly and should have cost us the game (I really thought the Big Benn toss was forward while watching live though).

Even if it was a forward lateral, it's no excuse to lose on a play like that

But we didn't lose on that play.  We won.

Why are we having a shame of the game when we win?  It used to only be when we lost.  Isn't there enough negativity without this?

Most of the time for shits and giggles.  A lot of times it's a humor thing, and other times it's because we have a player (or several) who is really awful and we want to get rid of.  It lets us vent that.

Two different thread types. I think we always put up a shame thread but the Goat Trailer only happened when we lost.

The defense for not being able to wrap up and tackle.  This is not just a last play issue.  This was an issue all throughout the game, and has been a large issue all season long.  I'm friggin' tired of watching missed tackles week in and week out.
