I couldn't watch either of the last two games except the second half of the Jets game.

Anyway, why is this his fault?  Did he make bad decisions?  It seemed to me that the team rolled over and played dead.

Idk how you can pin that on him.

The Dolphins need to shore up that oline.  Then, they can win those close games at the beginning of the season and not be in positions like this.

Well, this was the most frustrating season I have ever had to experience, but who cares.

The thing that protects Philbin is he has no say over the roster. Ireland has final say over ALL (yes ALL) roster moves.

Philbin will be given another year or two before he goes anywhere

What does Philbin bring to the table?  Good leader of men? Hell no. Good game manager? Not even close.  Can he build a good staff? Apparently not. Smart adjustments?  You've gotta be kidding me. Does he inspire confidence from the fans? No way.  Mike Sherman's sorry play calling is holding this team, including Tannehill, back. But Philbin has defined roles as well, and he has completely failed them.

He only lost 1 replay challenge all year, he seems to have that down to a science. While he isn't Lombardi he isn't as bad as you make him out to be. With a horrible o-line and 2 DT's who played awful all year....there is only so much a coach can do.  When you lose the battles on both lines of scrimmage, its impossible to win big in this league.

Philbin tried to get rid of Richie a year ago, he was told no. That entire mess could have been avoided IF they listened to him. They didn't. It's stuff like that which keeps Philbin safe in Miami

He only lost 1 challenge because he is such a pussy, he won't challenge anything that isn't 100% a lock.  He has no charisma.

Upon further review I think our LBs make the two DT look worse than they are. Neither one of them are great run stoppers.

Yes, focus on the defense and not the offense that scored 7 points in the final 2 games.  Maybe Ireland can spend a 1st or 2nd round draft pick on a defensive end for like the 42nd time this year.

Every team has a replay consultant up in the booth. From what I've heard he rarely ever took the advice of his replay consultant

then how in the hell did he only lose 1 challenge all year? Was he just lucky? And who the hell do you know that would tell you such an "inside"  thing?

I call BS on all of this

Because he rarely challenged

because he didn't want to be risky with losing timeouts. Which coach wants to challenge for the sake of challenging and lose a timeout? When he did challenge he won all but 1 of them!!! How is that not a good thing? Whoever was telling him to challenge plays was doing a damn good friggin job cause they got them almost all right minus one.

Now back to the other question, who told you he didn't take the advice of the replay person telling him when and when not to challenge? Cause honestly that sounds like something you made up and pulled out of your ass. You would have no way of knowing that! Admit you made it up

The question is:  Did he miss opportunities?   E.g. can you point to multiple challenges he almost certainly would have won that could have altered the game?

If yes, than he isn't doing a good job, by not challenging.  If no, than he is.
