^^ I can see where this would be an issue.

Wind wouldn't be an issue with hockey, but you can't control the temp.  Ice conditions and sun ARE.  There were players complaining about the sun after the game in New York.

There is a huge difference between hockey and basketball.

Hockey is an outdoor sport that has moved indoors (just like football has in some locations), basketball is an indoor game (it was invented in a gym not a playground) that is sometimes played outdoors. 

Hockey should be played outdoors.  (Just not in southern California)
