I am glad to see sharpe go, don't care one way or the other about marino, but he is the more relevant on this forum.

Sharpe was horrible, but out of Marino and Boomer, I thought Boomer should have gone, unless Marino wanted out.  Boomer is horrible.

Dan Marino and Shannon Sharpe FIRED by CBS this morning.

Tony Gonzalez replacing them on the pregame show

Boomer is the only one who says anything interesting. Marino was boring and bland. Never gave any real insight.

Sharpe didn't fit the image CBS wanted. He was too out there in left field

If you ask me, they all suck.  I have grown sick of all Sunday morning football pregame shows.

ESPN only talks about Manning and Brady
CBS only talks about AFC
Fox only talks about NFC
NFL Network is probably the most well rounded, but focuses too much on fantasy football, IMO.

I loved Marino as a player, but didn't think he was very good in the studio.  Maybe this frees him up to take a more active role in our organization, assuming that's what he and Ross want.

I have to think this didn't come out of left field for Marino.  It will be interesting to see if he has already made plans.

Best comment to that article...

"Can Tony jam a bunch of peanut butter in his mouth before he talks so I don’t miss Shannon Sharpe too much?"

Classic...

I never cared for Sharpe. Always thought CBS had the wrong one. As far as Marino I never cared for his play-by-play during clips of the games but his analysis on things and interviews were interesting.

Boomer also does radio, so while I may not necessarily agree with his insight, I think he's a more proven commodity.

I've yet to hear Cowher say anything insightful or interesting, ever; you could have a robot spit out his automatically-generated script for generic coachspeak.  I don't understand why he wasn't also given the boot.

Tony Gonzalez replaced one of them. Now Bart Scott is taking the other open spot according to reports
