They just watered down the regular season. More meaningless games and games where teams will rest players late in the year since they are "already in"

Great, now we can start seeing some 8-8, and maybe some 7-9, teams in the playoffs.

The article explains it. One additional Wild Card. One bye for the top team. 2v7, 3v6, 4v5.

Is it worth seeing an additional 8-8 team in the playoffs if it means that we don't have multiple 10-win teams sitting on the couch?

Why don't they institute a round robin round for the conference playoff teams. Then, the top two teams in each conference move onto a best of 3 series. Then the Super Bowl becomes the Super Best of Five. This way they could rival March Madness.

Isn't that like saying that if GM changed a policy or two, they could "rival" Nissan?

The Super Bowl is already much bigger than March Madness.

It's not question of size. The NFL restructured it's offseason to stay in the national conversation. So why not extend the postseason to achieve the same result? Only with more relevance. It's always about bigger & better, right?

More revenue for the TV stations too.  The Wild Card round will now have six games.  One game can be played at noon, one at 4 pm and one at 8 pm each day.   This will give NBC and ESPN an opportunity to air those games
