The Draft will NOT be at Radio City Music Hall next year and will now be 4 days not 3. MSG is the clubhouse leader to land the event. But Chicago and LA have been contacted by the league to submit proposals if they want the event. Other cities are alive as well but as of now NYC, Chicago, and LA appears to be the favorite for the event.

Also the draft is going back to Late April

I'm all for the 4-day event in late April. Since I watch on TV, the location of the event really doesn't matter to me...unless Miami lands it at some point in the future.

I like how the NHL rotates their draft between different cities every season.  The draft is held in the team's arena.  I believe it will be in Florida next year (2015).

I don't care for the 4-day format.  I really only watch the first round anyway.  The weekend portion of the draft is completely useless to me.  I don't know a single player drafted in rounds 4-7, and most of them won't be on the final 53 anyway.

Going to four days is merely speculation based on the fact the NFL wants the locations available on Wednesday. It could merely be an indication that it takes the NFL a day to set up the place and they don't want to be running around checking electronic connections 5 mins before the draft goes live.

I am 100% for moving the location around.  No reason for it to be in NYC every year.

Should we start the list of players drafted after Round 4 who are in the Hall o Fame or at the very least became impact players? LOL...seriously Brian that is a foolish statement to think guys drafted from Rd 4 on won't be on the Final 53 man roster. I mean how are current Fins Hartline, Clay, and Jones doing? Guys drafted from Rd 4 or after!

I don't think Brian meant he didn't know of any players who have been drafted in round 4-7.  But that ON DRAFT DAY the players drafted in rounds 4-7 are college players he has never heard of.

Granted I don't follow college football too closely but of all the players drafted in round 4-7 this year, I knew the name of exactly one of them before the draft.  (A 7th round DE drafted by the Rams)

Moving the location is silly to me. I mean its no big deal and I don't care, but I just don't see the need for it. Are fans going to show up Day 3 or 4 in Chicago, Miami, Buffalo, or LA if they are hosting the event to watch a draft? Not sure honestly if there are enough die-hards in many cities. NYC has enough people/fans to fill that place up every day.

Plus in MANY cities it will be going head to head with local NHL and NBA playoff games in those cities that week...which won't be good for the NFL. This is a draft...not an actual game! If Fans have to pick to go to Day 2 of the Draft or a local playoff game, the NFL will lose that battle. To me moving it is just creating unnecessary headaches for the league.

Nope, most round 4-7 player will not become impact players.  A few will, but not many.  There is a reason why there are more first and second round drafted player in the HOF than round 3-undrafted combined.

Yes, NEP found an elite QB in the 6th round, that doesn't mean most 6th round drafted QBs are elite.

You are ignoring his point that I was responding too. He said most picks in rounds 4-7 will NOT make the Final 53... the fact is that most picks rounds 4-7 WILL make the Final 53 man roster. Brian saying they don't is just wrong. That vast majority of guys picked in those rounds do make the Final 53 and some become impact players. Not all, but some!

Our definition of "impact player" may be different. I should have used "contributor" or "meaningful player". I wasn't talking HOF level.

I would bet against that. You had to Know AJ Mccarron and likely a few others as well.

Actually his POINT was he doesn't give a shit about watching anything after the first round.

I really only watch the first round anyway.  The weekend portion of the draft is completely useless to me.

That was the point of this post.

That was the point of this post.

And then he went off on a tangent about no players taken in rounds 4-7 make a 53 man roster. Which is a dumb ass statement and moronic honestly. And I was RESPONDING to this part to his post....

I don't know a single player drafted in rounds 4-7, and most of them won't be on the final 53 anyway.

Didn't think I had to clear that up  Roll Eyes

I'm a draft junkie, and while I definitely knew more about the earlier round prospects than the later round picks, I probably still had either read about, or watched film on, at least half of the players taken between rounds 4-7. I'm always most impressed by teams that pull diamonds out of the later rounds.

Seattle's super bowl championship roster had 21 un-drafted players on it. Almost 50% of their team were un-drafted players! Simply amazing on all levels.
