How far into the season does it have to be to remind everyone that Tannehill is not a rock-star, NFL franchise QB? Yeah, his receivers have dropped some passes, but God he makes some bad throws, and for a guy who was a receiver, never fails to amaze me with his immobility in the hits and sacks he takes.

Under 50% completion, couldn't finish drives. RT gets it from me. -EK

His receivers don't drop some passes, they lead the league.

That doesn't surprise me. Even if they didn't- he doesn't do enough to win games. Never has, never will. -EK

An assessment which you made after seeing Tannehill play exactly one half of one game.  Way to stick with your original call, though; it's a refreshing new look for you.

My SOTG goes to Lazor.  The offense was so thoroughly inept that I don't know who else to give it to.

If your receivers drop just about everything you throw, regardless of how perfect it is, you can't sustain drives, especially when the offensive line isn't always blocking for the run game. He's certainly no rock star, but he would look like one of the better QBs in the league if his people didn't continually let him down.

Even with receivers dropping passes, he still misses an an awful lot of throws.  Sure, people are  dropping catchable balls, and sure, the line isn't pass blocking consistently, but at some point he needs to nut up and get the job done.  I have a few bargain basement chairs on my patio that withstand folding pressure better than Tanny does.

Many of the bad throw complaints are not legit. Watch other games and you'll see receivers constantly catching less than perfect throws.

Staring down receivers seems to be another catch phrase people like. Just because it sounds cool doesn't make it true. He's far from horrible but needs some help.

What's the deal?

Bill Lazor.  He abandoned the run again in the fourth quarter when it was working so well.  This team was down by only six points and had a second and 1 near midfield.  They threw two passes and then punted.  From then on out it was all Tannehill running for his life.  This offense is clearly not working and Lazor doesn't even closely resemble the offensive genius people make him out to be.

Tannehill threw for over 4000 yards last year.  At the pace he's on this year, he'll have less than 2500.  And that's with more time to throw.  He's taken three steps backwards.  If he doesn't show improvement from here on out, it's time to find another QB.

I agree with the Lazor call, because the offense has been inept for 2 consecutive weeks.

But, yesterday, for the first time, I saw Tannehill's weakness. Its true - dropped balls happen, and that blows.  Guys like Hartline and Landry have great hands, catch everything near them in practice, but drop balls on the field.  I don't get it.

But, now I see what people say when they complain about Tannehill holding the ball too long.  I watch Russell Wilson do that, and he's gone.  Cam Newton, same thing.  Pocket collapsing, no throw, bolt.  Tannehill can be in that mold, but he just doesn't seem to play that way.  I wonder if his ability to sense pressure, or just the sheer amount of sacks he has endured has damaged him.  He is just playing with zero confidence.

I want to see a QB stand there and deliver the ball.  I don't want to see 4-5 balls batted down at the line.  This has been a problem for him since his first game, and still shows up weekly.

Sorry, you know I have liked him in the past, but Tannehill gets the SOTG this week.

Many of the batted balls are the O-lines fault and I just don't get it. They showed one play on TV up close and no one on the right side was engaged with their defensive lineman. I don't know why that is. It has to be taught somewhere.

Dropped passes, poor pass protection, abandoning the run way too early while averaging 7 ypc, 13 missed tackles, poor defensive schemes.

LET'S BLAME THE QB! YEAH!
