I don't know what it is. I don't even think it's coaching. It seems like we've been bad so long the pressure to be good causes us to shut down. You can see it at times and the ability is there. My best advice is to take up something to help them relax. They need to chill out, take some chances and just play the game for fun.

Maybe this is what "lame duck" coaches get out of their teams...

Many of the bad throw complaints are not legit. Watch other games and you'll see receivers constantly catching less than perfect throws.

Staring down receivers seems to be another catch phrase people like. Just because it sounds cool doesn't make it true. He's far from horrible but needs some help.

Bravo CF. The funny thing is I hear it told completely different depending on who says it. Dave has said how good Tannehill looked at multiple receivers the other week and the TV commentator mentioned him looking off a receiver yesterday. I think it is just a good talking point for people.

My shame goes to Lazor. Not enough run plays going on.

Many of the batted balls are the O-lines fault and I just don't get it. They showed one play on TV up close and no one on the right side was engaged with their defensive lineman. I don't know why that is. It has to be taught somewhere.

Tannehill had a problem with batted balls when he was at A&M. It was one of the knocks on him coming out of college that I pointed out from the get go. When the QB has the same issue with every O-line he has played with, it's on him.

*Tannehill had multiple passes tipped/batted for INTs his senior year; over half his INTs came from tipped or batted balls.
*no other Dolphin had tipped/batted ball issues in the preseason when Tannehill had four in ONE HALF against Carolina

How come none of you are talking about passing the ball on second and one and third and one in Chief territory with the score 21-15 and the running game working effectively?

Throwing deep on 2nd and 1 is smart football; that's why nobody is talking about it.

Really?

Go to your shaky passing game when your running game is shredding the other team?

That's smart football?

On second down, yes. Good call.

On third down, no.

It was mentioned numerous times in this and other threads. Read around.

An assessment which you made after seeing Tannehill play exactly one half of one game.  Way to stick with your original call, though; it's a refreshing new look for you.

HA HA!! That was a good second sentence Spider. That brought me a nice belly laugh

Holding people accountable for football-related claims they have made on this site is not a "personal attack."  Nice try, though.

This is though- it's a blanket statement, going beyond commentary on football, that intimates I'm hypocritical. Either attacks are allowed or they're not, Mr. Moderator. -EK

Let me clarify, since you're having a hard time with the nuance:

Your consistency on maintaining that Tannehill is a bust is contrasted with your total inconsistency on whether you are a lifelong Dolphins fan (or even a Dolphins fan at all); an inconsistency which, to this day, you continue to let twist in the wind.

And I can call out your inconsistent statements (which are not the same thing as hypocritical statements) without it being a personal attack.  Make a dumb post and I will call your dumb post dumb.

Any other clarification needed?

Let me clarify for you, since you're also having a hard time with my original nuance- as a moderator of this board and someone who routinely removes other peoples posts because they "don't add anything to the topic," I have consistently voiced that you should have a higher standard and not purposefully make statements such as your original one that does exactly what you delete other people's posts for doing.

I've never seen a moderator of any other message forum engage in the petty and constant bickering and post dissection that you do, and likewise, no other moderator here does it. What possible benefit does it bring to the board to do this?

My post was less about whether there was a cut and dry, black and white personal attack, and more about the general tone of the statement and the needlessness of it. Clearer? -EK
