What's NOT gray area is that guys like Gruden, Cower, Fisher, and the list goes on and on refused to work with Irleand because Jeff wouldn't give up control and final say over the roster. Not debatable. That is a fact.

Those guys would have wanted to bring their own GMs, not just have Ireland give up control. Doesn't mean the coaching staff didn't have significant input on who makes the 53 man roster.

Back to the original discussion, Chris Hogan ran with the twos and threes all camp and typically did not see the field in the preseason until the second half. And you could see he wasn't ready for live bullets when he did play in the preseason. Great practice player, but he wasn't ready to make the team at that point.

The comment that it was on Ireland is off the mark here.

What is a fact and not debatable is that guys like Gruden and Cower have refused to work with anyone at all. I don't think you can put it all on the situation in Miami because no one has either of these guys even sniffing the coaching ranks again. Let's quit saying Ross or Miami blew it because apparently no one else has been successful either.

My shame, let's keep piling it on Thomas.

Im going with Jarvis Landry.  After the safety, not only does he catch the free kick even though it is going out of bounds and would be a penalty on Buf, he then fumbles it.

Dallas Thomas.

Has Billy Turner even played this season? He always seems like he is inactive. Dallas was an Ireland pick, so no wonder he is terrible. Couldn't even crack the O-Line rotation last season.

Turner is so raw. Miami over-drafted him in Rd 3. Turner probably won't be active the rest of the year and might not be ready to start next year. Kid is a project. Gonna take time to get him on the field

I think the only head coach with final saybon the 53 roster is belichick. Maybe there is one or two others but it is rare.  Every hc has input on who makes the team.
