Yeah, that's called Unsportsmanlike Conduct, and it's been around for a while.

Those are not the same thing.

Let me rephrase it to make my point better.

What's next, a penalty for not helping the guy up and checking to see if he is injured and asking how his wife and kids are doing?

I think this is one of those situations where you're not really in touch with reality, because unsportsmanlike conduct and "not being professional" actually are the same thing.

Now I understand...you're just trying to be silly.

No I am not actually.

I was watching the steelers-chiefs game on Sunday and the Steelers made a huge sack but one of their players got penalized for "Taunting"

I don't like the idea of something so subjective and non-impactful to the play to have a huge impact on the game.

Take care of that in the league office, if you must, but let the action ON THE FIELD determine the outcome.

Then don't taunt! Make the sack, walk off the field. No need to do a dance routine and start talking smack!

Does the NFL rulebook even define the difference between taunting and celebrating?

It's not pornography vs art.  You know it when you see it.

Exactly...be a better sport, or...wait for it, dolphins4life...be "less unsportsmanlike."

Taunting gives refs too much control over the game and leaves it open to corruption.  A ref could invent a reason for taunting and throw a flag if he wanted to

And I am not being silly.  If I was being silly I would have used a silly face emoticon after my posts

It's totally silly. Don't taunt and you wont' get called for taunting. Don't showboat. don't act like a jerk, just make a play stand up and go back to the huddle

I'd like to see the playoffs reseeded so that 11-win teams from tough divisions (Arizona for instance) don't play on the road against 7-win teams that were the least crappy of four crappy teams from a crappy division (Carolina, obviously).

And review personal fouls. AND MAKE IT QUICK. The reviews as a whole take too long. But too many defenders get hosed on phantom helmet-to-helmet hits just because they're contact with the WR's pads makes a loud sound. Review it and get it right.
