ESPN and local NY papers are reporting that Jets GM John Idzik is gone, but Woody Johnson loves Rex and will probably leave his fate up to the new GM.

Honestly? I think that's wise. Show me the talent this Jets team has and tell me they are better than 3-12 or 4-12 after today. 4-5 years running they've had the worst QB in the league and the GM has been terrible. The team is 3-12 and I think it's 50-50 whether or not they beat Miami today. He gets his players up for games all the time, but their talent is so poor they lose.

He isn't the problem.

Rex is getting fired. It's over. He is a poor head coach.

Rex ran the last GM out of town because he told the owner the GM was the problem. Now THIS GM is the problem? Rex can't keep blaming the GM for his team losing.

It's over for Rex

It probably is, but not just yet. He still has some hope to not get fired tomorrow.

Getting dumped with Gatorade after 4 wins wasn't the smartest decision if he wanted to keep his job though.

Johnson didn't want to leave Ryan blowing in the wind by letting the new GM decide.

Rex interviewing with Atlanta and SF. He will get a job within a week is my guess

Nothing against Fat Rex, but if the 49ers were going to appoint a defensive specialist to be head coach, I'd prefer they promote from within and name Vic Fangio the HC. That said, I think SF really needs a good offensive mind to be HC, and keep Fangio on as DC. Considering all of the incredible amount of injuries/suspensions SF had on the defensive side of the ball this year, I think Fangio got as much out of that unit as was humanly possible.
