^^^ Actually it is a bit shocking to me. I never expect Manziel to "man up". Let's see if he takes this seriously or if this is just another one of those useless trips to a facility.

Translation:  The Browns told his agent he was going to be cut if he didn't shape up.  His agent talked him into going to rehab for a couple weeks so the money train didn't dry up.

Even still this could be exactly what he needs. At some point even the most dense of people start to realize that they are screwing up their career. Cris Carter saved his career once he grew up and wised up. Let see if this is enough to get Johnny Football's attention. He keeps saying the right things. This is the first time he's actually doing something about it even if it is just window dressing. 2 Weeks in rehab would get the attention of a lot of folks.

I'm wondering if he failed a drug test and is going into rehab as a PR move. Your first failed drug test and I believe the NFL keeps that one quiet, so if it was his first failed test he might have decided to go into rehab on his own as a PR move since he knows the NFL won't go public with it. But the next one they will. And doing this also looks good for if he were to ever fail a 2nd test.

Just something that ran through my mind when I saw this as a possibility

I don't think rehab would really improve the image of a second failed test. That may just be the way my mind works though.

Sad, but the Browns should probably cut him.

He'll never be good.

He should talk to Jon Jones and find out the secrets of mastering rehab in just one day.

Tebow never had a good year.  Don't rewrite history.  He played on a winning team.  But he was never good.

Johnny Football will never have an army of followers insisting that he play, nor will he be propped up by outside interests.

Laughable.  Which year are you referring to as his "good year"?

Was it the one where he played 14 games for the Broncos?

The one where he threw for 46% completion, 123 yards per game, and 12 TD's?  72.9 QB rating?  Oh right, that was his GOOD YEAR.  It was his ONLY year where he had more than 100 attempts.

he's out of the league for a reason, and Johnny Football will be right behind him very soon.

I think throwing twice as many tds as ints is pretty good.

Also, 6 ints in 14 games?  That's less than half a pick per game.

Not to mention his rushing prowess

I didn't mention his won-loss record that year because I believe football is a team sport and to compare quarterbacks by their won loss records is ludicrous because it overlooks the fact that one quarterback may have received more support from his teammates than another.  Not to mention a quarterback can't control if his opponent will do dumb things.  However, it's odd how everybody always says Brady is the best all-time because of his playoff wins.
