Dolphins probably caught a break when he turned down the GM job. And this guy was preaching morality and was on his high horse when Miami traded Bess to the Browns knowing Bess was a nut-job

against the rules. Non-coaches can't have conversation with the sideline during games.

I get that it is a rule, but that doesn't make it a good rule or suspension a fitting punishment.

This seems trivial compared to deflated game balls and videotaped practices.

Cleveland is just a mess of a franchise, wish they were in the AFCE.

I think the rule is in place just so the team doesn't have spies looking at their opponent's playbook or whatnot and texting it to the coach.

Of course, the GM has no business telling the coach what to do during gameday. Their 1st round pick CB is also turning out to be a huge bust. After fleecing the stupid Bills and Colts, the Browns shit the bed with their draft picks. It's still a poorly run organization.

It's a very good rule. It has to be in place.

No need to thank me, its a message board. We all post "opinions" here. It's the purpose of the site. Some opinions are good on this topic (ie mine) and some are idiotic (ie yours).

have a nice day  Evil

I'm sure the rule makes sense, but having not thought a lot about it, what's the purpose for it?

Pretty much as has been mentioned already. It prevents a team from setting a spy that can send the coaching staff live information during a game.

Before the game coaches share insight into their game plans with the TV announcers, which said announcers sprinkle into the broadcast and let them watch practices.  If someone who was watching TV was able to communicate such comments to the coaching staff during the game it would give them an edge.  And if this was done regularly coaches would refuse to talk to the announcers before the game which would result in a less entertaining product for us at home.

I know it's easy to target the Pats, especially on a 'fins board, but the truth of the matter is Atl, Jags, Browns, Pats, and now the 49ers all have instances of cheating. I wouldn't be surprised if more stories come to light as the investigation continues.

Jerry Rice admits to illegal stickum:
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/02/06/rice-admits-to-illegal-use-of-stickum/

I remember back in the day when Glanville, I believe, said 'if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying'. Not condoning, just saying that as an avid viewer of the NFL, this cheating has been going on for a loooooong time. With tech coming along and entering our lives, games, enhancing equipment... it was only a matter of time for this stuff to get caught/come out.
