I have a ton of stuff coming up that I'm excited for.  A lot of it has to do with comics/superheroes, but that's just the state of film right now, I guess.  Also, Star Wars being back opens up a ton of stuff.

TV: Game of Thrones is coming back soon.  I'm watching House of Cards on Netflix.  I'm juggling so many (too many) super-hero shows, that something just has to give.  I watch Arrow & Flash, neither of which I particularly love, though they are OK.  I watch Agents of SHIELD.  I watch Gotham.  I'm excited for Daredevil on Netflix, but am considering ditching Arrow & Flash.  There are just too many episodes in a season for all of these shows.  I think all of this stuff should cut out filler and max out at about 16 episodes.  I finished Star Trek Enterprise which I really enjoyed, SpiderDan be damned.  I am considering going back to give Voyager another shot.  I would love a new Trek on TV.  If I can fit it in, I'd like to get back to Mad Men and start True Detective.

Movies: All the Marvel Stuff & DC stuff I will watch.  I'm wetting my pants for Star Wars.  The new Mission Impossible looks great and I love that series.  There is a film called "The Martian", plus Mad Max Fury Road all look cool.

Theme Parks: Disney has a Star Wars land coming.  I'm excited to see what that's all about.  I also want to visit the new Harry Potter land at Universal Studios, but haven't done so yet.

Comics: I'm reading Walking Dead and will start on the new Star Wars comics, once my buddy hands them over.  I have a back-log of a bunch of stuff, but I'd like to give Marvel's Secret War a shot.  Also, I'm considering picking up some Star Trek comics that are supposed to fill in some story gaps.

Books: I'm going to do my best to keep up with the Star Wars novels, so long as they don't churn them out too fast.  I read "A New Dawn" and liked it fine.  Tarkin is next, but I'm giving myself a break.

Games: I'm supposed to play Last of Us, but haven't gotten around to it.  I'm playing Star Wars: The Old Republic right now, which I like.  I'll probably finish that and then go "dark side".  There's a free Star Trek MMO that I might try, too.  In November, I plan to pick up an XBOX One and the new Star Wars Battlefront game.

What are you excited for?

Like Dave (and a lot of others), I am a complete crack whore who is just waiting for another hit off of the Marvel movie pipe. I can't wait for Age of Ultron, and I'm even a bit stoked for Ant Man. Other non-Marvel/DC movies I am looking forward to this year are: Terminator Genisys, Mad Max Fury Road, Star Wars 7 and Ted 2.

I watch all of the comic book TV shows, with Agents of SHIELD and Gotham being my two favorites. I actually like Flash and Arrow quite a bit as well, but they are more like fluff around the edges to me than substance in the middle.

Despite having almost no interest at all in the Mission Impossible movie, I love a good high-government conspiracy/crime show, with The Blacklist and Person of Interest being two that I refuse to miss a single episode.

Other shows I record and watch weekly are: Walking Dead, Better Call Saul, Supernatural, Grimm, 12 Monkeys, Scorpion and Castle.

I don't do any comic books or comic book-related books, but I have been reading a lot of biographies and historical nonfiction lately. A couple that I have really enjoyed are Limonov (Emmanuel Carrere) and Silent Spring (Rachel Carson).

No games lately, except the occasional Words with Friends and Backgammon, just to keep from becoming a total social recluse. Grin

Dave, did you finish DS9?  If so, what were your thoughts on the series?

I very much liked DS9.  It got a little flaky with the religious alien stuff at the end (I much preferred the Dominion war stuff) and thought that a few characters could've used some more conflicted stories (namely Kira) -- and they dropped the ball with Dax, but yeah -- good stuff.

Enterprise was really good, though.  I don't get why people don't like it.  I got bored with Voyager after only a few episodes, but I might try it again.  It just seemed like it had no stakes only one character was interesting.

I'm kinda interested in Furious 7, but I've never seen any of the previous movies.  The last one looked crazy, action-wise, and I hear good things about how they stitched Paul Walker back into the movie using old footage and computers.

I find them enjoyable.  After FF3, they get a lot better.  Very unrealistic action, but still entertaining.

Also, I forgot to mention the upcoming Bond film, Spectre.  I loved Skyfall and Casino Royale.  (Quantum of Solace kinda doesn't count, since the writers strike screwed up production and it didn't have a writer.)

^ I've heard this, but am skeptical.

I love Trek and want it back really badly, but there are issues because CBS and Paramount own different parts of the franchise.  Fau, what would you like to see?

Set where, when, in what timeline, what type of show?

the story i heard was that brian singer was involved in the new trek show and that he was also behind a proposed show that would take place a thousand years into the future of next-gen .. where the vulcans removed themselves from the federation and joined with the romulans .. the klingons were some sort of warrior-monk culture and where the ferengi were female dominated.

seemed like a unique take on it
