Rodgers for sure, maybe Brady depending on the rest of your team.

Brady is 37. I cannot imagine ANYONE picking him first.

Rodgers is 31 and even though he is an excellent quarterback, I wouldn't even consider picking him before Luck.

Rodgers is better than Luck right now, and I don't know if building for the future is really an argument when you are re-drafting the whole league in one swoop.

But Luck would be no worse than third in any scenario, so this is ultimately a moot point.

Well, that hardly seems a fair comparison since one of those has had a chance to prove himself.

Who would you take before Luck in such a draft, btw?

Aaron Rodgers was the only name that I could come up with, because at 31, he still probably has 7 or 8 years left, and at least 4-5 elite years. It would be close though...I've been crazy for Luck since his Stanford days, and he's definitely the best young QB in the game today.

Maybe Rodgers....maybe. Luck would go no lower than #2 and I would take him #1.

With QB being the clear-cut most important position in today's NFL, if we did this "everybody back in the pool" complete league redraft, and you asked all 32 NFL GM's to list their top-3 picks, I can pretty much guarantee that all 32 would have both Luck and Rodgers on their short list.  If not, they probably don't deserve to be an NFL GM. I think they both suck honestly. I am not sure any quality QB's are in this draft.

the Winston picture last night with the crab legs shows this clown doesn't get it. And he clearly put on an act for a few months in the lead up to the draft. Once he was picked, back to acting like a fool and making bad decisions. Good Luck Tampa you just picked Johnny Manziel 2.0

Do you honestly think that him having crab legs on draft day means anything?  I don't think it means SQUAT other than the fact that he likes crab legs.

Here's what means something to me.  The fact that today, he signed his contract.  Four years, $25.35 million with a $16.7 million signing bonus.  That tells me he wants to get to work right away, get down to Tampa, grab his playbook and start learning the offense.  He wants to work, he wants to win, and he wants to do it big like he did at Florida State.

On an unrelated note, I'm really liking this new GM Licht.  He not only drafted a franchise QB, but now he is doing whatever it takes to protect him.  He grabbed Donovan Smith out of Penn State at LT, and then traded up to late in the second round to get Ali Marpet at C.

That just tells me the deal was worked out weeks ago and he couldn't officially sign it till today after he was picked and flew to Tampa. Not like he has much negotiating power under the new CBA anyway.

Actually he could've.  Teams have been known to sign players before the draft.  I think your boys had Jake Long locked up a day or two before the 2008 draft.   The only reason the Bucs didn't sign him ahead of time is because they were listening to trade offers.  But it would've had to have been a mind blowing trade offer for them to give up the opportunity to get a franchise QB.

If we were doing a redraft as a one time deal, I would take Luck #1, if we were doing a redraft for one year with another one next year he would #4.

If we're drafting entirely new teams every year, I still think Luck would go #1 or #2. No disrespect to Brady or Peyton, two of the all-time greats, but there really isn't any chance that their talent level will be better this year than it was last year. With Luck, you are almost guaranteed to see a "next level" every year for at least the next 4-5 years. The team that drafted Brady also wouldn't have Belichick, unless of course New England got the #1 pick.

Yeah, annual redraft, I would still, barring injuries, draft Luck either #1 or #2 every year for a while going forward...

Welcome to Manziel 2.0.  He better mature up quickly or his head is going to throw away a lot of physical talent.

I've never been a Manziel fan, actually quite the opposite, but I gotta give him credit for doing a long rehab stint (unlike Jon "Bones" Jones who went for one day, and has now thrown away his career).

Sure.  I would never root for anyone to fail in rehabbing a substance abuse problem.  I just don't like him.  I wish him the best in staying clean and sober.

I think Winston will do fine in Tampa. The truth is he is a legitimate choice for QB as he definitely has the potential. What he does with that potential is anyone's guess and it has nothing to do with his crab legs. No one has argued that he hasn't got the size, arm strength, or brains to play this game. The same can't be said for Johnny boy.

The stage is ripe for Winston to put up big numbers in Tampa.  Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson are ballers.  Plus he's got a couple of extremely capable running backs to hand the ball off to.

Funny thing is, the Bucs asked him to take #3 as his jersey number and he agreed.  Although they are both saying it's for a "new chapter in his life", I think it's because the Bucs don't want 10,000 #5 Josh Freeman jerseys retrofitted with masking tape.
