That's funny!! The guard situation will be the downfall of this team this upcoming season. It's a joke.

I have zero confidence in 1 guard currently on this roster that they are capable of being decent this year. Douglas long-term, probably. This year, not holding my breath.

 Huh Huh Huh Huh

The guard spot were in need of an upgrade and the Fins did nothing to address that other than drafting Douglas.  To even think that Dallas Thomas or Billy Turner will all of a sudden have a break-out season is crazy. They suck Ballz the past 2 seasons so why give them a vote of confidence? Hell former Fin Evan Mathis was in the rumor mill what happen with that. Does Philly still want to trade him??

The agent for Mathis was on WQAM last week, he has had permission for over 2 months to seek a trade for his client. He said he called Miami and the Fins told him they aren't interested. Miami isn't going to trade for (or sign and pay) an old guard. They don't want Mathis.

Fins will give Turner and Thomas their chances to fail, and come August when some scrubs get cut they will pick one up. Fins front office wants young guys, someone like Mathis is old and that doesn't interest the Fins. Other than Greg Jennings they haven't signed one older guy really this past offseason. And I'm sure with a gun to their head if the Fins knew they would be able to draft Parker they probably wouldn't have signed Jennings.

And I would bet dollars to donuts that come Week 1 or 2 JD Walton is starting at one guard spot. He was a bad center and not that great overall, but compared to Turner and Thomas he will be better than those 2. Meaning he will get the playing time.

So what did Miami end up doing with Satele?  If nothing else, he would have been good for depth.

For the 743rd time, in case people have forgotten... Billy Turner, from the football powerhouse of North Dakota State (Go Bison!), will turn out to be a solid OG for Miami this year.

Yeah some powerhouse. And he was so great he couldn't crack the lineup last year. Even late in the year when everyone was getting hurt. We are supposedly to blindly believe that 1 year later he magically discovered how to play?

They signed JD Walton instead of Satele to be the back-up center

Hope your right.  Even if your not I think that Turner, Thomas, etc will do better this year if there is stability in the line (no injuries, no suspensions).  It's hard to judge them based on last year when guys were playing out of their normal positions and being moved around.  Not to mention we (or at least I) like to give guys some time to develop, we accept it with other positions.  It took Miller three years to become a decent RB, Tannehill took a couple years; it's nice when players step from the college field to the pro field and have an immediate impact, but that's just not usually the case.

No it didn't, it took him 3 years to get a capable o-line to block for him that wasn't a total joke! If he had a good o-line as rookie he would have been producing more those first couple years

It's called "player development." Not every player comes into the league at the same point on their developmental arc, which is especially true for many players from smaller schools.

I also really don't give a rat's ass in Hollandaise sauce what you believe, blindly or otherwise.

He was inactive for almost every game last year and he was healthy!!!With the Fins piss poor o-line could ONLY play 17 snaps all season long. Player development is one thing. For a 3rd round pick (taken at the top of Rd 3) to be so bad he can only get on the field for 17 snaps when we had injuries everywhere on the o-line that is scary. Oh and don't worry just like you don't care what I believe, I don't care what you believe either. Nice to see we are on the same page!
