I want to learn how to Fantasy football but I dont know where to begin. I remeber I long time ago how time consuming it was. But that was in the late 90's when computers sucked. NOOB HELP.
The very, very, VERY basic is just to learn the importance of positions:
Elite stuff, generally the first two rounds:
Top 5-10 RBs
Top 2-3 QBs
Top 2-3 WRs
Top 1-2 TEs
The best defense will go in a middle round.
The best kicker should be drafted in the last few rounds.
Don't draft a backup kicker, because they're easy to replace.
Draft more/better backups for positions you have less faith in. So, if you spend big on a QB like Brees or Rodgers, then you can afford wait a while for a backup. Whereas, if you wait until round 4 to take a receiver, you might want to create a stable of 5 mid-level guys to switch in and out based on weekly matchup.
The best advice I can give is not to get hung up on which players are better -- ESPN (or whatever you use) gives you a list, and most of the guys go generally in this order, give or take a few spots. It's way more important to understand how your league works than to evaluate talent.
Oh...and be lucky. That helps.
