Jonas Gray
LaMike James
Sam Brenner

Fins in the market for TE's and Safety's with the Jones and Sims injuries yesterday.  Plus something happened with the running backs today. Coaches were all over them as a "group" so not shocked to see James and Gray gone. Gray could be resigned to the practice squad though possibly.

Fins just signed RB Raheem Mostert (was with Philly's practice squad)

He can return kicks which is probably why he has more value over Gray at this point.

Not surprised at all about James of course.  Not much surprised about Brennar.  Didn't they already cut him once and then re-sign him?   But a little bit surprised about Gray since what I had been reading was that they might be expanding his role a little bit.

It isn't unusual to see quite a bit of roster shuffling during the first couple weeks of the season though.

They paid Brenner like triple what most guys get who are on the practice squad when he was initially cut and cleared waivers. Cutting him (per the Miami Herald) was strictly a cost saving move. Someone thought twice about it and was like why are we paying him so much to be on the PS and today sent him packing.

Why was gray cut, didn't they just claimed him from The Pats.
No surprise on James. Fumbling in preseason and fumbling in the game. See ya buddy.

Had to cut him to get him back on the practice squad is what many think. They need the roster spot. They had only 1 TE on the roster after the Sims injury. Reshad Jones is hurt so they might need to add a safety. And they need a kickoff returner as well. So they needed to make room and open roster spots so they can get players who will actually play on the 53 man roster.

Haven't seen anything on Reshad Jones injury. Is he out for next week or just banged up and probable?

Hamstring injury. Word is he will "probably" play, but might not be 100%. It was thought to be far worse of an injury on Sunday

Several possible reason, and it could be more than one.

Gray was brought in as for intelligence and either refused (and was cut) or cooperated (and Fins have all the info they are likely to get so got rid of him).

Fins thought they were going to get a gem off of the Patriots garbage heap, and after closer examination realized that there was a good reason NEP got rid of him, so moved on.

Fins never really wanted him, but had heard the reports NE was looking to sign him to the PS so they figured just fuck with their rival.

I thought it was always pretty obvious that the Gray signing was pure team espionage.

Don't forget Gray was a Dolphins for 2 seasons before he was a Patriot.  Maybe they legitimately thought they'd kick his tires again.  He was a bubble guy to make the team before he was cut before.  Perhaps they didn't like him now as much as they did a year ago.

If Ajayi never got hurt Gray wouldn't have been signed. If LaMike James didn't fumble and start a fight with Landry and if Sims didn't get a concussion Gray is still on the 53 man roster.  Odds are Gray is resigned by Miami and put on the practice squad. Some of you guys are reading way too much into this

Vernon is expected to play Sunday at DE with his ankle injury
Reshad Jones didn't practice today and his status is up in the air

With the depth that they have on the D-Line and the fact that they are playing a weak team (although last week's weak team gave the Fins all they could handle), I would almost prefer that they sit Vernon and let him heal up rather than risk having him make the injury worse and miss games where they really need him.
