Apparently the players union is upset about him having them perform the Oklahoma drill in season. I swear these wimps should be playing in skirts.  Roll Eyes

Suh is currently on pace to eclipse his Pro Football Focus grade from last year in Detroit (when he was First-Team All-Pro).

Maybe the "B" word you were thinking of was "barely getting any help from the rest of the DL"?

But but he doesn't have sacks! His numbers don't look pretty on a stat sheet! That's all that matters!

So caring about the air we breathe, the water we drink, etc. is a bad thing? I think you could have come up with something better.

It was from the movie "Thank You For Smoking". It was code for "Pussies".

I completely understood what it was code for. I did not know the movie reference though. As someone who likes the idea of clean air and water I don't think it is the greatest analogy.

Dan Campbell can do all the Oklahoma drills he wants in practice, short of making the playoffs this season he won't be the head coach next season.

He is just a warm body to finish up the season. Nothing more, nothing less.

If the Dolphins go 10-6 on the season (9-3 under him) and miss the playoffs, Dan Campbell will be offered a head coaching job by some team next year (probably the Dolphins)

What the Dolphins do will very much affect his career, Dolphins go 4-12 at best he is going to back to being a TE coach and it will be a long time before he gets another HC shot.  Dolphins have a winning season he will be an OC some where and probably be an HC somewhere within 3 years.  For him it is more than a place holder.

OK, in the off chance scenario they win 10 games and miss the playoffs he keep the job.

2 things

1) This roster isn't winning 10 games
2) 10 wins will get you in the playoffs in the AFC this year

So in your off the wall, make no sense scenario he would keep his job. Now back on planet earth let's deal with reality.

For him and his career yes it means alot yes, for Dolphins fans (like everyone on this site) he is the placeholder for 12 games then he is gone

Bates didn't do much after his stint as interim coach.

Bowles did.

For me all Campbell has to do is one thing, get the energy level up for the 1st quarter. This team is getting absolutely destroyed before the game even gets going which is killing everything they want to do. Even if they can't sustain that energy for more than the first quarter if they can just compete in the 1st quarter of games that will be a HUGE difference.

It took Bowles years. After his stint as interim coach he went back to being a secondary coach in Philly.
