From what I saw, they looked better and the few sacks and QB Hits given seem to back that up. Was that true?

Turner looked decent. Real test is this week facing JJ Watt, Clowney, and Wilfork.

Dallas Thomas was pitiful yesterday. Whiffed on multiple blocks

That doesn't sound like a test...it sounds like a mugging.

Turner looking decent means he is the best Guard on the team now. Was Douglas benched due to sucking or injury?

Next week should be a huge test for the Line, but if they can keep it to 3 sacks and Tanny not running for his life, you have to call it a victory.

Probably will be. Campbell might need to do an OKLAHOMA DRILL all week this week to prepare that group for what they are up against

Douglas is F'n terrible, he looks lost and is just awful.  Before yesterday Douglas rated 77th out of 79 NFL guards who have played this season. Mind you only 64 guards start in the league  (Dallas Thomas is ranked 79th out of 79...lol)

If Turner did okay and he wasn't even allowed to sniff the field, maybe he didn't turn a corner as much as the coaching staff just didn't give him a chance.

It's one game. He has to prove it over time. Could be a fluke. We will see in the coming weeks. They have a Sunday followed by a Thursday game coming up. We will learn more then

From Today's Dan Campbell Press Conference:

Campbell said Billy Turner lacks a lot of consistency..attacking pad level (other things) but he brought physicality, attitude, and passion.

What I had heard pre-game was that Campbell decided to start Turner because he "plays with a mean streak" and he wanted the o-line to get "meaner."  Also, and probably more meaningful, they thought Turner was a better run blocker than Douglas and they had intent to run the ball more than before.

Sounds like he will get a few games to play. The bar is set so low too for him to succeed, all he does is need to be better than the worst guard in the NFL.

From the Miami Herald

Dallas Thomas, rated 98th of 103 guards by Pro Football Focus, remains an issue; offensive coordinator Bill Lazor said there was “inconsistency” from him Sunday after he graded out best on the team in interior runs the previous four weeks. Plus, he has allowed among the most quarterback hurries of any guard in the league, according to PFF.

I would take inconsistency and intensity (with some great plays and some horrible) over consistent meritocracy (no great plays but less breakdowns) and lack of intensity.   You can coach and improve the former but not the latter.

I think the word you are looking for is "mediocrity."

"Meritocracy" is a system where people are judged and rewarded based on performance, which is what everyone should want.
