THE ASSCLOWN AWARD

« on: October 25, 2015, 08:14:12 pm »

Really hard to pick one for today, especially since I couldn't watch it live.

The defense did give up 26 points in the second half, so maybe them.

I don't see how it can be an individual player today.

Defense was in prevent for the entire half. Always hated prevent defense because it doesn't prevent anything.

If I can nominate a weird one, but give it to Philbin. It's shameful how we crushed a bad team 41-0 at the half when we needed a miracle to beat the Redskins and then followed that up by making Bortles into Dan Marino 1984.

When there is no legit nominee, go with Philbin.

Philbin, for being there for 4 games.

Could've been 6-0 heading into New England!

The defense for giving up 26 points in the half,  guaranteed that most of the starters were pulled, still no excuses because second/ third unit should be able to step up.  Only some starters were left.

The waterboy for failing to be sufficiently aggressive and give 110%.

This thread is unserious.

Tough to name one (honestly there wasn't one) but I have a surprising one if forced to name one.....DAN CAMPBELL!

Up 41-0 with less than a minute to go in the half and he has Tannehill throwing the ball. Getting sacked and hit. If he got hurt there it would have been awful. Your up 41-0, take a knee!!!!

Then, with a game on Thursday and a short week, he has Tannehill, Suh, and other key players playing in the 4th quarter. They should have been on the bench earlier than what they were. They shouldn't even have seen the field in the 4th quarter

I won't go so far as to call Campbell the SOG for it, but I agree about risking Tannehill getting injured.  I was looking for Matt Moore to come into the game about halfway through the 3rd quarter and it made me nervous as hell when Tanny was left in there.

The same attitude that got them to 41-0 is what kept them trying to score and kept them playing late in the game. That guy in New England does that all the time and it seems to work out for them.

I'm waiting for that one knucklehead who likes to try to troll everyone by saying how awful Landry is.  "The Dolphins would have beaten the Texans by 70 points if Landry didn't suck so bad!"

Not that I think he deserves a shame but sometimes Jamar Taylor doesn't look like he needs to be on a football field.

I think he is head and shoulders better than Brice McCain

I agree.  Though far from perfect, I think Taylor has come a long way since this time a year ago.  CB is a tough position to rate players.  It always has been.  There is such a fine line between hero and goat at that position and the "measurables" of success can be so misleading.  Interceptions used to be the defining stat for CBs.  Way misleading.  Maybe someone has a lot of interceptions because they are targeted more than any other DB on the field.  Just like a lack of interceptions could either mean he isn't good or it could mean he is so good that few balls are thrown his way because he always has his man covered (not speaking of Taylor here, just speaking in general terms).  Sorry, I kind of digressed off topic here with my rant.

That may be, but Brice was injured today and Taylor looked very bad in the second half.
