My first thought when I heard about the Kelly hiring was "please don't let him make any personnel decisions!"

I do think that Kelly being hired means that Kaepernick will be back as our starter next season, after it looked all but certain that he would get cut as a cap casualty. I guess we'll see how Chip's read option offense works at the NFL level with a QB that is made for that system.

In short, I am a 49ers fan, and I support the organization's decisions...until they are proven to be bad decisions. I hope Kelly has a great run in SF, and helps us get back to being a playoff contender every year.

What do you think happened to Kaepernick?  He looked so good coming out in 2012, then went downhill

The Bucs have agreed to terms with Dirk Koetter to be the new head coach.  He served as offensive coordinator last season and played a big role in the development and maturation of Jameis Winston.  Glad to see continuity on offense there.  The defense is a big question mark still

Mobile QB's have a hard time becoming great because instead of getting out of jams by learning to read defenses and make better throws, they escape it with their legs. So, they don't need to in the beginning until the rest of the league has enough tape to study you and knows how to take you down.

In all honesty, this was the downfall of Michael Vick. He was never as great as the media and sponsors made him out to be. He had the potential to be one of the best, but he relied on his legs too much. Kaepernick can still change, maybe even RG3.

Just my opinion, but I think it was a combination of 3 things... First, we lost two pro bowl O-linemen, and we arguably had worse O-line play overall this season than Miami. Second, there is the square peg-round hole training he did with Warner this past offseason. Kaep is NOT a pocket QB, and trying to make him one wasn't a bright move. Third, Kaep is not the most mentally/emotionally strong person in the world, and when things started going bad, he started doubting everything about his game, and shit just straight up snowballed from there.

Hopefully Chip will install a nice comfy square hole for Kaep to fit into. Nothing would make me happier than to see Kaep looking like Kaep again, with a few more quality sides of beef in front of him.

Wow ... who could have saw that coming? Lovie's biggest crime this past season was the fact his Offensive Coordinator was more in demand than he. Kind of makes it a damned if you hire a great guy and damned if you don't hire a great guy situation.

Lovie's biggest crime is that he failed to adjust his defensive scheme to fit his players.  He kept stubbornly running that Tampa 2 coverage which is outdated and needs to go.

Add to the fact that the team set a record for penalties.  They missed a lot of kicks, they got blown out on opening day by the worst team in the league, they blew a 24 point lead at Washington, and they lost four in a row to end the season.  Too many mishaps.  Good bye.

Pretty much anyone who lives in Tampa, like Brad and myself.  That's pretty much all the Tampa media was talking about before it happened.

Is this the year of "Promote the OC to head coach?"  Seems to be happening a lot lately.

LOL ... I was just kidding as that was one of the worst kept secrets in the NFL.  The day Lovie got fired it was immediately reported the reason being the Dolphins. They requested an interview with Koettner the Bucs panicked. As it was  ... they were going to give Lovie another year.

Because the more important thing was to make sure Jameis's development goes unhindered.  The two things that ruin a franchise QB are lack of pass protection and constantly having to learn new systems.  Your boy Tannehill hasn't even been in the league five years.  He's now on his third head coach and fourth OC.  And he's been sacked an unholy number of times

Former Miami Dolphins Quarterback Doug Pederson returns to the City of Philadelphia to become the Eagles' HC.  It was Pederson, not Marino or Mitchell, who was the QB for the Dolphins in November 1993, when the Dolphins beat the Eagles in the old Veterans Memorial Stadium for Don Shula's record setting most wins ever by a HC.  Myself and a friend left Tampa on a Saturday afternoon, driving all night to arrive in Philly just before game time, bought tickets from a scalper, and saw the record setting victory.

P.S. took a lot of crap from the fans, as is always the case in Philly.
