If the Dolphins are going to make a playoff push, should they consider the backup quarterback position?

Tannehill has gotten banged around for a long time.

Backup quarterbacks are underrated, just ask the 2002 team.

Ask the 2015 Dallas Cowboys first.

HAHAHAH....

Is it so inconceivable that the Dolphins win 9-10 games next year and get in with a Wild Card? Get that oline some attention and I guarantee the offense will do quite well. The defense will have to suffer next year -- can't fix all the problems at once -- but 9-10 wins is certainly not out of reach.

Absolutely.  A little improvement and this team could turn those close losses into wins.

It would help if they could get a SINGLE lucky break or bounce, too.

They actually had the best break ever this season, playing against the two weakest divisions in the NFL.

I meant in game bounces, like the Patriots got this weekend, like they always get.

Ask the 2015 Dallas Cowboys first.
LOL. The Dallas Cowboys weren't bad JUST because of bad QB play. Oh they'll go to their grave insisting it was only the QB position that caused the downfall, but no team goes from 12-4 to 4-12 SOLELY on mediocre to bad QB play. Throw in the fact that Dez was not healthy for much of the year and that they let their best RB get away in free agency and the fact that their head coach had no clue how to change the offense to fit the backup QB and you could see the dropoff of the entire offense. Without the terrific ground game and without the downfield QB/WR dynamic that they had last year their offense sputtered which exposed their below average defense. Sure not having Tony hurt, but the Steelers lost Rothliesberger and kept on winning and the Broncos lost Manning and kept on winning because those teams had a lot more players picking up the slack then the Cowboys did.

No.  They can't win with their starter, so worrying about the backup is going to have to be on the back burner.

The Dolphins are a broken organization right now.  They aren't a bounce or a call here or there away from being a good team.  We have real big problems.
