Melted paint all over the field causes an uneven surface.  I'm very annoyed that I won't be able to enjoy some football tonight.  If I were a Colts or Packers fan, I'd be doubly pissed.

Some crew personnel at Fawcett Stadium will lose their job for this.  I guarantee it.

I feel the opposite.  The less preseason games, the better things are.

I'll bet you'd feel differently if you had bought a ticket to the game and had spent time and money travelling.

The Hall of Fame estimates their losses to be at $4 million as a result of this.

For once, we agree.

I wasn't going to watch the game anyway, but the less bullshit saturation to water down the product, the better.

I'm just curious as to how many people really care about the game that much and how many people were there more for the ceremony. I know we had a group go up for Marino's induction and I am considering going for Taylor's when it happens so I'd like their input with the experience. I personally would consider the game itself a secondary event to the rest of the weekend even if Miami was playing the game.

Can you guys that have been weigh in on your experience and thoughts?

Odds are if you have tickets to the game you primarily went the induction not the game.

However, given how difficult it is to get tickets to Packers games I would not be surprised if there were several father-son combos at that event in which dad's primary interest was seeing Farve inducted and son's was going to his very first NFL game.  So yeah, I am willing to bet there were at least some disappointed fans that are bummed they used money and summer vacation to travel to a canceled game.

Didn't the teams do like a meet and greet thing with the fans who had tickets? If so that would have been cooler than that useless game.

It's not useless.  Maybe to some fans, or to Aaron Rodgers who is guaranteed his starting job.   But to bubble guys trying to make the team, these are some of the most useful games they will play in their lives.

I don't think coaches put too much stock in preseason games when deciding who they cut and keep.

I have heard coaches say the opposite.  It is not the only factor, but it certainly is a factor.
