Tough game that we're built to lose, IMO.

I think we'll give up a good amount of points.  30-20.

At least the Chargers aren't the best defense against the run. In fact, they are well below average.

There are some reports that Travis Benjamin, Chargers' top WR, is going to be held out for the game after suffering a bit of a setback with his knee injury. If so, that would be good for the Dolphins, 'cause if Rivers gets going, it'll get ugly fast.

Chargers seem to be getting old at a lot of positions, but probably not fast enough for the Dolphins to win the game.

Your score doesn't seem to fit with your explanation...I thought I heard that the Chargers were 5th against the run?

They're 19th in the stats I was looking at. There are, of course, different ways of looking at these things. I remember years where we allowed very few passing yards just because our pass defense sucked so bad, and our offense could score, that teams got ahead early and then just ran the ball the rest of the game. Those raw numbers were not very indicative the level of play on the field.

To be honest, I don't know why there's such a discrepancy with the numbers in this case; I don't really watch the Chargers.

If nothing else, the Chargers do have some glaring weak spots on run D. They allow second most yards in the league on runs listed as left tackle and third most on outside runs to the right. Hopefully, that's something we can take advantage of.

With regards to my prediction, I'm afraid Rivers is going to light up our D early and then the Chargers will just cruise home. Maybe I'm overestimating the Chargers offense... hopefully, I am.

You might very well be right about the defense rank...I've been looking up fantasy football defense match ups all day, and may have confused it with that.

That's good news about the LT/right outside run...a lot of his big runs come off those same plays.

I think you're overestimating SD.  Rivers is awesome, but he has zilch at receiver right now.

I don't think the Chargers, given the level of performance they've shown thus far this year, are going to let themselves lose at home to a team coming off a three-game win streak.

The Dolphins are at the point now where teams aren't going to take them lightly and come into games complacent against them, especially at home.  And that means teams that have at least mediocre talent are probably going to beat them, until such time as they again start looking like a very poor team (if that happens).

The Dolphins are still the kind of team that needs to benefit from situational variables, as they don't have the talent to overcome unfavorable situations.

I'll say 27-13 Chargers.

I  am hoping for a victory. I am going down to the game, and I watched them lose in SD last year. Would be nice to see a victory.

Miami has seemed to play terrible against the Chargers, I think it was the last game they ran all over Miami with Woodhead I believe.  I hate the Charges, playing them always reminds me of the Fouts/Winslow game of years ago. Plus I think they have the same 1970's era fight song, with the words changed. Miami is due.

No they don't. The "Super" Chargers theme song is really cheesy (It was the Houston Oilers).

I typically stay away from predictions but this is a game Miami needs to win. This is one that is needed in order to not only show they are making strides but to actually start making those strides. The problem is, San Diego is always a tough team for them to play.

Yup, that's right it was the Oilers.
