Today, we saw that the play of the quarterback can, indeed, decide the game.

My game ball this week goes to Philip Rivers Ryan Tannehill.

Tannehill.  QB rating 130.6.  YPA 10.  Unreal.

Yes, without Kiko they would have probably won the game.

It can.

But so can the play of the secondary.

Tannehill gets it this week.

My honorable mention goes to DeVante Parker. He needs to start becoming a factor more often.

You didn't mention who your game ball went to.

---

I considered giving an HM to Vance Joseph for the preparation required to put so many defenders in position to get an INT, but there were WAY too many drive-extending defensive penalties to justify that honor.

Parker's 5 catches for 106 yards and over 20 yards a catch was the counterpart to Tannehill's YPA of 10.  There's no way he gets that funneling the offense through Landry.

Parker also had a very efficient 12.9 yards per target.

So, so tough to decide on this.  I got to go with the Dolphins secondary, especially much maligned Tony Lippett and Byron Maxwell. Yes, both were called on the holding/PI calls and gave the Chargers 1st downs out of them, but each had at least a pick and sealed the game with the final one by Lippett.

I think Lippett once he gets down some nuances to the CB position will be a viable corner.

I just love the fact that Kiko baited Rivers into that pick 6.  Rivers is an asshole (albeit a very asshole QB).  He had been jawing ALL day, even calling calling out Kiko in the 3rd IIRC on a holding call on a WR.  So that was karma there at the end with the pick-6. Screw him.

Great win

HM Lipett, Alonso, and Tunsil, who played at a high level at guard and tackle

The combination of rivers having to call a timeout bc the dolphins knew the play then the perfect one by Alonso was great. It is nice to have an intelligent MLB again.

A lot of great performances but Tanny was almost perfect while taking another beating today. Mad respect for that guy as he continues to get better.

I was flipping between the Steelers game today and the announcer said Ben was the toughest QB in the NFL and all I could think is BS. He'd have missed a bunch of games if he played in Miami. I think I'm going to start calling him Timex because he takes a licking and keep on tickiing!
