Given that drops by receivers are not rare occurrences in the league, if your game is riding on one that does occur, then whoever was responsible for putting the team in that position certainly deserves a helping of blame (in addition to the receiver) if the game ends in a loss.

I disagree with the highlighted part. If winning the game is dependent on the outcome of a 50-50 play (and I doubt Parker catches that ball even half the time), you can't suddenly hold everyone blameless just because you got lucky. People make stupid decisions that pay off big time all the time, but that doesn't make the decisions any less stupid.

There's a difference between attributing responsibility for a nail-biter win, and attributing responsibility for a loss.

Tannehill was partly (if not primarily) responsible for the character of the win (i.e., a nail-biter), but obviously he's not responsible for a loss.

If Tannehill would've played all day the way he played during the final two drives, with all other things equal, obviously the game would've hardly been a nail-biter.  What we could do then is attribute responsibility to Tannehill for a convincing win.

And he's done that before in his career.  It just didn't happen yesterday.

Tannehill. The fact he ruined the chubby some of you had when we were losing makes it even better.  That in itself makes it ok for me to watch 3 quarters of horrible offense.

I'll give it to Alonso. Another turnover this week. And they did "hold" the offense to 10 points but the rams do a good job already of holding themselves to no poibts.

Can't give it to tannehill the way he played the first 56 minutes.

And I understand what you mean there, certainly, but when you situate that game in the context of where the team is this year and where Tannehill is in his career, I think you have to celebrate that Tannehill produced that kind of win by playing the way he did on the final two drives.

I think it represents possibly a big developmental step forward for Tannehill and the team, when you consider the much bigger picture.

While I didn't give my game ball to Tannehill, I really did like the fire that he showed when they scored that 2nd TD.  He really led the team and I think that it's a step forward in terms of a leadership role.

He's never going to be outwardly vocal like Marino or Brady but I do think he can be moreso than Flacco.

I think the biggest takeaway from this game is that the team doesn't quit, even after three and a half quarters of absolute rubbish play. I read one of the local media guys writing that Landry could barely stand at the press session after the game. Last week, Parker basically couldn't walk. These guys give every ounce of strength they have, leave it all on the field, to serve up a nice cliché.
