Which is it? Do they want a tough old school coach or not? You just described Marrone as a Tom Coughlin type but that's who you said would get the job.

Coughlin hasn't ever quit on a job and has 2 Super Bowl rings, he can act that way. Not to mention Jax hired Coughlin today as their VP. They hired both.

Looks like Marrone will be reporting to none other than Tom Coughlin

The Raiders cut ties with OC Bill Musgrave, who if there was not a minimum number of pass attempts required, shares the 49ers and league record for completion percentage in the Super Bowl.

The Giants almost performed a mutiny on Coughlin before he won anything. It was pretty ugly for his first couple of years. He's about as strict as it gets.

I know the history. Not sure what this has to do with anything in regards to Jax hiring him as their VP

Should make Denver @ Mia more interesting.

Wouldn't shock me if that is a early season Thursday night game or a Thanksgiving night game now.

Wouldn't shock me if it was a minor prime time game.  (Thursday/Sunday night) doubt it would a big enough deal for MNF.

Monday Night game is the minor one of the bunch but every team MUST play on Thursday Night too at least once.

I don't think it gets a Sunday night game, which is why I didn't mention a Sunday night game (NBC saves them for big markets like Chicago, Dallas, Philly, NY...etc) but Thursday or Monday makes sense

I didn't realize every team gets a Thursday night. Is that a new rule?

nope it's been the rule, well technically the rule is every team must get a Thursday or Monday night primetime game, most of the garbage teams are kicked to Thursday though in the weeks NBC or CBS don't air a Thursday game and its an NFL Network exclusive. But they try to get every team a Thursday night game to keep it fair and give every team a mini-bye on top of the regular bye.

4 teams did not play on Thursday night this season: PIT, IND, WSH, and DET.

The NFL's website is stupid.  For Thursday Night Football, there are no games listed on Thanksgiving.  The Thanksgiving PIT-IND game is listed on the Sunday Night Football schedule.  The WSH-DAL and MIN-DET games aren't listed on either.

I suppose it comes down to whether you're saying every team is required to appear on "Thursday Night Football," or whether each team is required to play on a Thursday night.
