THE ASSCLOWN AWARD

1) I often have been accused of being overly focused on the kicking and officiating.  How ironic that in Miami's three victories, the officiating and the kicking have played huge roles.

2) The roughing the passer call.  That is one of those calls where if it goes against your team you say, "That's garbage, it was ticky tack," but if it is goes for your team, you say, "A rule is a rule."

3) The Patriots continuing to get lucky could either help or hurt Miami in the future.  I hope Adam Gase watches other games.  If he does, he needs to show his team the play in the Jets/Patriots game and say, "IT'S NOT WORTH RISKING LOSING CONTROL OF THE BALL AND GIVING THE OTHER TEAM THE BALL AT THE TWENTY TO LOSE A SCORING OPPORTUNITY.

4) The Chiefs could be Miami's best ally this season.  They could help Miami overcome the Broncos for a wild card the same way they did last season.   And they could defeat other competitors, too.  Miami is lucky they don't have to play them.

5) I don't believe I have a cosmic effect on Dolphins games, however, here's what happened today.  I started following the game, and they fell behind 10-0.  Then, I left for somewhere, and my friend texting me to ask how they were doing.  Assuming it was another friend, I responded, "You know exactly how they are doing."  Then, I realized it was another friend.  I told her they were getting destroyed.  When I reached my destination, I was flabbergasted to see the score was tied.  I then found out that they had won.

6) These games remind of the Philbin era, where Miami has needed to make one more stop to seal the win.  The difference is this time, Miami is making those stops, or their opponents are self-destructing.

7) Next week is key.  A victory earns Miami a split over the Jets, and the possibility to win the tiebreaker over them.
