Nor should they.  If he wants to be a dick, they should reciprocate.

Actually that's the way it's always been.  You only hear about it so much nowadays because of how fast media gets the word around.  Fifteen years ago, I could be a dick to the average John Doe and Suzy Q, and there wouldn't be a crowd of people holding up their smartphones recording me doing it.

I think HOF induction should be based on a player's career, not whether they care to be inducted.  The Hall of Fame is not a jilted girlfriend who needs your praise.

If they want to get rid of the ceremony,  then fine.  But if they voted him in, he should be in.
I guess. I just kind of feel if you can keep people out for questionable character why not because they refuse to accept it?  It's not like the HOF is guaranteed. It's just a place for fans to remember so if he doesn't want to remember why would anyone else.

Why must you be mature and painfully on point when I'm trying to roll out a purely emotion based hot sports opinion.  Smiley    Your point is well taken, sir.

Sorry, I hadn't downed enough caffeine by that time of the morning...I was a wee bit surly. Wink

On a completely unrelated note, the UK Daily Mail has pictures and a story about your QB Jimmy G, out on a dinner date with porn star Kiara Mia.  After 50 years as a Dolphins fan, this kind of story could sway me to start buying 49ers swag.  Jimmy bringing da manliness back to the NFL.    Grin

They were discussing TO with a sports reporter this morning on the Joe Rose show.  I tuned in late so didn't catch who it was. Anyway ... they were talking about why he wasn't going and it came down to a few things. The first being he's burned so many bridges that none of the teams he played for were going to pick up the tab ... as it custom. The second being that Randy Moss went in on his first time and TO had to wait until his third. He also was offended by things said about him by some of the voters when they defended not choosing him in years past.

I would have thought he would have gone younger.

In the words of Groucho Marks, perhaps T.O. doesn't want to belong to a group that would have him as a member.

I was channel surfing last night watching parts of the HOF Game, and caught a few notable moments.  Jerry Kramer ended his playing career 49 years ago and is finally getting into the HOF this year.  Without outright saying T.O. should get over having to wait an extra two years, he said he wasn't bitter about having to wait so long and is glad to become a HOF member.  Second item was Tony Dungy talking about his induction and how he met other inductees extended families during the weekend and built relationships that he still values today.  Sadly, T.O. is robbing himself, and his family of these possible friendships, which had nothing to do with him not getting in on his first or second years of eligibility.

Tony was on the Joe Rose show the other day talking about that exact thing. He said that TO wasn't just robbing himself but all his family, friends, and his fans and coaches who have supported him.

You mean to tell me that TO is still the same self serving person that got kicked off several teams in the NFL? Shocking! Evil

Randy Moss’s tie made a statement.  TO’s boycott did not.
