The Miami Dolphins have partnered with the Ross Initiative in Sports for Equality (RISE) on RISE to Vote and will hold a registration station at the Dolphins’ September 23rd home game against the Oakland Raiders. RISE to Vote is a nonpartisan effort to register athletes and their fans to vote. Stop by the North Plaza at Hard Rock Stadium and register to vote, take a photo to share, and help yourself and others become informed and engaged citizens.

lol... we already have too many uninformed voters as it is. I always find it humorous that people try and convince people who don't care to vote. For some reason they feel if they convince them then they will vote with them when i think the truth is that kind of voter either won't show up or vote for third party people. There's a reason a person doesn't care enough to register to begin with.

I saw this article yesterday and it just reinforced to me that we are begging people to vote who have no clue as to who to vote for.

Study: College students don't know where to buy stamps to mail in absentee ballots

... they don’t know where to get stamps,” Lisa Connors, with the Fairfax County Office of Public Affairs, told the television station. “That seems to be like a hump that they can’t get across.”

The irony here is that Patrick Henry famously opposed the Stamp Act in 1765 in the Virginia House of Burgesses, and also gave his famous “give me liberty, or give me death” speech to the same legislative body.

The focus group included college interns from across numerous departments in Fairfax County, WTOP reported.

“They all agreed that they knew lots of people who did not send in their ballots because it was too much of a hassle or they didn’t know where to get a stamp,” Connors said.

“Across the board, they were all nodding and had a very spirited conversation about, ‘Oh yeah, I know so many people who didn’t send theirs in because they didn’t have a stamp.’”

I'm the opposite. I think we need legislation that requires people to pass an IQ test before. Stupid voters are a much bigger problem to the country than having them stay home.

I'll add to that by reminding everyone about the British voting for Brexit then had their number one Google item the next day asking what Brexit was.

Trump would never have been elected under this scenario... Stupid voters are much easier to scare.

I saw this story too.  There are lots of things the younger generation are ignorant of, life how to open a car window that has a crank, or how a rotary phone works.

But...shouldn't mailing in your ballot be FREE?

I imagine that the same college voters who can't figure out where to buy stamps (that they've never used) can damned well figure out how to update the security software on their smartphone.

So I guess this means they aren't qualified to vote for President, but are qualified to be President.

I'm a Republican living in MA. I don't vote in presidential elections, because of the electoral college, my vote has already been cast for me. I'll start voting for president when the US becomes a true Democracy and every vote counts, or when Massachusetts becomes a swing state.

Well if you're saying you show up and vote, but just don't vote in the Presidential race, okay I guess.  But, if you're not going to the polls at all that year it's just dumb.  There are many other races going on; whether it be mayor, councilman, state legislator, etc. where every vote sometimes matters.
