Chase Young said to TMZ that right now his plan is to return to Ohio State next season. I realize that's BS but if it did happen then it really comes down to one player and our tank was for naught.

This is a good example on why the tank talk for one player is nonsense.  There are going to be a lot of solid picks, because we miss out on Burrow or Young doesn't make all of this meaningless.  I still think we should take best player available and draft a QB next year, unless Burrow is there, which he won't because the Bengals will take him.

They need a QB who can either play next year or learn from Fitzpatrick next year otherwise they might as well wait to 2021 to draft a QB.
They already have aQB  who can learn from Fitzy. Nobody really knows enough about Rozen yet to see what he brings, right? Maybe the Dolphins should just wait and see what they have in Rozen?

Big game this weekend against the Bengals, must lose to have shot at #1 overall.

I'm ok with that, but I'm not using the 2nd pick in the draft to sit out for a year. I'm really hoping that Tua actually returns for another year of college and then applies for the draft. I think it would be the right thing to do for himself. He'll go high in the 2021 draft if he's healthy again.

But the Bengals can secure the #1 spot with a loss as well. What happens if both teams just refuse to take the field?

In all seriousness, Dolphins should start Rosen. There's no downside. Make up an injury or illness to Fitzpatrick if you have to.

The #1 pick is already lost to me, I'm just focusing on staying in the Top 3. We lose out and we pick #2. If we win we can drop all the way to 6th and get no QB, no Chase Young and no OT from Georgia. We can still get a great talent but throwing away a franchise QB for a Week 16 win against a 1 win team? I sincerely hope the whole team gets a stomach virus and has to forfeit.

I disagree. We sacrificed a really shitty season to get a game changing player. This means thousands of fans spent money to see a really shitty product with no chance to win let alone compete for playoff spot. Had all tickets and travel been refunded then I'd say it wasn't for naught. As it is many fans have suffered all season for what? An offensive tackle that may not even be as good as the one we gave away.

BTW ... our drafting sucks. We rarely hit on anything beyond the second round. We've already wasted two picks on Rosen so I kind of expect us to waste a lot more since we are losing out on the only sure things (well.. as sure as can be in the NF). At that rate it could take us many years just to get back to 8-8.

League would not allow that.  But I would love to see some week 17 game where both teams just score safeties each time they get the ball.

You're jaded.  We didn't throw the season away for one good player.  We threw the season away for NINE picks in the first two rounds in 2020 and 2021 and $117 MILLION in cap space.  We have the least amount of talent in the NFL and aren't the worst team.  The coaching staff looks like they are competent.  Rosen was a shot at a  franchise QB for a 2nd rounder, and I'm still not going to say that was a bad move, he's still young and might have learned something sitting behind Fitz.  Like I said, jaded, future is bright.

LMAO ... they have given up on him. He isn't playing now so more than likely he has played his last game in a Dolphins uniform.

Flores said today ... "We’re always going to do what we feel is in the best for this team,” Flores said. “We’re going to play the guy that gives us the best chance to win. We feel like that’s Ryan. It’s been that way for the last 8-10 weeks and we’ll continue to go that way.”

Actually if we have learned anything from Flores it's that he doesn't give up on a guy just because he's not starting. I think you're thinking of some previous coaching staffs.

You can say that but the guys with the team everyday are saying different. Armando, Joe Rose, Omar & Channing Crowder have all said that staff appears to have given up" on Rosen in the past week and as late as today. In fact ... Armando said today on Joe Rose that Chris Grier said very recently "We have our coach and now we need to find our franchise QB". Armando stressed that Rosen was never mentioned during any talk of franchise QB.

The difference being "We haven't found our franchise QB yet" and "We've given up on Josh Rosen ever being that guy."

If you are going to continue to quote Armando or Omar, I'm going to lose all respect for you. And I only have a slight more respect for Joe and Channing. Having played the sport they might have a bit of insight but they really don't see what goes on inside closed doors either so they really are just reporting what they hear from coaches etc which tends to be about as valuable as what Armando and Omar know which isn't much.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think the team is high on Rosen in any way shape or form, but I don't believe they have given up on him either. They are doing what you do with a young backup QB, you try to bring him along and hope that one day he can come off the bench and run the plays. Beyond that it's a crap shoot. People have this failed notion that you can tell a franchise QB before he becomes a franchise QB. Well you can't. There's a reason that Drew Brees is playing in New Orleans.

Let me ask you guys this.   Let's assume you guys finish at #2 behind Cincy.   If you wanted Burrow that bad, would you offer to swap picks with Cincy in exchange for the #1 and #2 you acquired in those trades earlier this season?

More importantly, if you're the Cincy GM, do you take that deal?
This is an easy question to answer, just by flipping it:  if MIA had the #1 pick, what would it take for CIN to pry it from their hands?

The answer is a LOT.  Like, the amount Mike Ditka traded for Ricky Williams, as in CIN's entire draft this year plus more picks next year.

So no, that is not a viable option.
