I was thinking this morning...I have no idea who Miami plays this weekend.

There was a time, years ago, I literally would not miss a game.  While in Hawaii I made a point to belly up to the bar at 9am (5 hour time difference) for the 1pm kickoffs.  My license plate read "Phishfan." I knew the schedule by heart, along with the roster (and the scores).

I had a subscription to the Dolphins Digest, I had become friendly with Andy Cohen and a few of the other writers in S. Florida over the years as our paths crossed while we covered our respective teams.

Now?  I literally have no clue who we're playing this week.

The days of my youth are long gone, you won't ever find me as wound up about any sporting team ever again, no matter what circumstance presents itself.  But I wonder what the team will need to do in order to get me even passively interested in this team again.  It's pretty bad I have no idea who the team is playing in four days.

I wonder if they do?

I kinda not care to get pumped , to decide which jersey im gonna wear or getting my Man Cave ready for football. Hell the Hurricanes have been pissing me off as well  Grin  Sundays just come and go, Been actually working on my Motorcycle and other projects.   At least the HEAT are kickin ass

Giants who are 2-11 so an important game for determining draft order.

+1 for Mai Tai's at 9AM in Honolulu while watching football.   Like everyone else already said, there have been a couple times this year when even late in the week I had no idea who the Dolphins were playing.  Far cry from the days when I lived and died by Dolphins football.

I've watched every game this year and know when and who they play.  I like to see how the young guys do that I pretty much know are going to continue on the team like Needham, Baker, Wilkins, etc.  Plus it's fun to watch Fitzmagic run around the field.

While my interest is definitely much less ... and I think I've only watched parts of a few games ... I typically know who we are playing. I listen to Miami sports radio every day so it's kind of hard not to.

I knew they were playing the Giants, but that's just because I'm going to the game.  I'm just hoping it's not a cold rainy game.  Hopefully the heavy rain from Saturday does not carry over to Sunday.  Current forecast is 46 degrees, some sun, windy.

Big loss for us, now if we lose out we will finish no further than 3rd and possibly even 2nd. Neither the Giants or Redskins will take Tua but they could be offered a trade they can't pass up if some team really wants Tua.

At this point, if we finish 3rd then I think we take Tua 100%. Our first round trade picks are going to both be in the 20s due to unbelievably bad luck so we probably won't be able to take any other QB in the first round unless we reach.

WSH will definitely take a QB if they're #1, and I wouldn't put it out of the realm of possibility for NYG.  Of the teams with 3 wins or fewer, only DET and ARI are locks to pass on a QB.

I also think that "if we lose out" is a pretty enormous if.  I see very little chance that CIN will allow MIA to lose next week when they can clinch the #1 pick by losing themselves.  A 4-win MIA team can fall as far as 8th.

Both Giants and Skins spent 1st rounders on QBs they are currently starting, Giants with the 6th pick and the Skins with the 15th so it would seem unlikely either take a QB, even if a miracle happened and they picked #1.

I agree with you about Cincy, that will be a tough one to lose and a loss probably takes us out of drafting a QB this offseason. One meaningless Week 16 game can be franchise altering for decades to come. I hope Fitzpatrick brings his sucking boots to the game next week.

Let me ask you guys this.   Let's assume you guys finish at #2 behind Cincy.   If you wanted Burrow that bad, would you offer to swap picks with Cincy in exchange for the #1 and #2 you acquired in those trades earlier this season?

More importantly, if you're the Cincy GM, do you take that deal?

I don't see how Cincy doesn't draft Burrow with the #1 pick. He checks off every box for a franchise QB and Dalton is in his 30s and was never an amazing QB anyway. Even if we get the #2 pick, the cost of moving up that one spot would probably be both our extra 1st Rounders and I don't want to pay that price with Tua and Chase Young also available(in case Tua's injury is really bad).

I would give up one of our 1st Rounders though but I would be more concerned by a team doing what the Rams and Eagles did and just forfeiting their future to get that #1 pick. We shouldn't compete with a crazy offer like that with so many holes on the roster. Just pray that we lose out and Cincy pulls off two straight. They are terrible but have been competitively terrible the past few weeks.

Not a slam on you but I hate when people say this like it's so easy. More times than not teams try to trade down and can't.

Wouldn't matter if we offered, Cincy wouldn't take it. Burrows is a lock and Tua is not even in the running anymore in my opinion. I wouldn't take him in the first half of round one let alone with the #2 pick. Remember that he's probably going to miss all of next year (he absolutely should) and might not even apply for the draft. The Dolphins don't need to have a rookie QB they can't even kick the tires on next year that would be a HUGE gamble. They need a QB who can either play next year or learn from Fitzpatrick next year otherwise they might as well wait to 2021 to draft a QB.
