21-6.  Bengals are getting close to clinching the first pick.

I want an apology from everyone who told me I was paranoid for saying that Ryan Fitzpatrick would screw up our season with meaningless wins. 37 year old journeymen QB is our team MVP and I hate this sport.

I stand by my position that it is better to be competitive and and to continue to play each meaningless game like it is a playoff game than drafting a few spots earlier.

Game of the year!

The stoppable force vs. the movable object in OT!  Who wants that first pick more?

A 30-yard punt out of bounds!  Going to be tough for MIA to escape with a loss on this one.

Both teams REALLY want to lose, so they might have to walk away with a tie.

If Rosen were the QB, I would agree. However, our QB is a 37 year old with no future. I don't want players with no future on this team causing us to win. If the rookies were the guys making us win, then I'm on board.

I would normally agree with this position.

However, given that MIA traded away two of its best young players in the hopes of tanking this season, continuing to win just magnifies the folly of that decision.  MIA doesn't even have a young core to build on.

We got a few good players in the secondary and Parker/Gesicki is turning into a nice little receiving corps. Wilkins will show what he ot next season when he isn't paired with garbage. I'm still convinced that we can compete for a Wild Card next year with good drafting and use of cap space, but if we drop back to the 5th pick we lose out on a lot of top talent and will be left with the best Cornerback in the draft. We didn't trade away talented players for the best cornerback, that's why starting Fitzpatrick for so long was a bad idea.

Bengals win the 1st pick in the draft.  Dolphins drop to the fifth pick thanks to Lions losing and falling to 3-10-1.

Lions are down by 3 and there is 13 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. They are playing the also shitty Broncos so that game is far from over. If the Lions do lose, then yes we drop to 5th and should start fielding calls to trade down and accumulate more picks.

MIA literally just drafted the best CB 2 years ago, then turned around and threw him in the trash.

Yeah, I don't think there is one person on this board who feels we handled that properly. Wouldn't seem as bad if the fucking Steelers didn't win 6 games by one score or less. SIX FUCKING GAMES!! Ball bounces our way and that's like the #11 pick. We could've packaged that and our own pick for Burrow. Bengals may have still turned it down but no stronger offer would've been made by anyone else.

so just to clarify my view, fuck minkah.. fuck burrow .. and fuck the #1 pick .. that never works out.

take a page from the miami heat #culture, play to win .. play to win every game, be professional, be consistent, have continuity. Don't change coaches every 3 years. If players aren't professional, trade them away and get people that fit with the #culture. Whether we pick 1 or 2 or 8, who cares, make the most of that pick and move on.

I want them to play to win every game, I just wish that they would lose these games by 3 points instead of winning them by 3. That's better for the future and the culture is still good.

Um, your forgetting that without Fitz, Parker and Gesicki are NOT having the year they are having. Parker probably isn't offered a new deal and Gesicki is a bust. On top of that Miami is probably 1-15 and no one in the NFL would be wanting to play for Miami. The way it is now Fitz will start next year no matter who they take in the draft and Miami will be competitive, Parker and Gesicki will have another year under their belt and will be ready to play for a young QB and a lot of people will be WANTING to play for Miami. Your logic is deeply flawed. Miami is MUCH better off today the way things turned out then if we would have lost 15 games. Without a doubt. For the first time all year I'm actually positive about next year.

That's kinda where I'm at in this whole process.  You look at teams that consistently suck and they don't just all of a sudden get better....especially with free agency and the cap.  Be as good as you can be.
