He's done well for himself broadcasting on ESPN College Gameday.   He can focus on that full time now.

The Tebow story ended pretty much how most people thought it would other than no one expected him to be in the first round of cuts. Kudos to Meyer for being real with him.

Yeah, it was best not to drag him along. I felt there was a better than zero chance he would make the team due to how awful the Jags are, but it's hard to lay in the NFL, let alone learning a new position at 33 after a 10 year break. There just wasn't much upside to it because even if he picke dit up within a year or two, he is 35 then.

I initially thought he would last past the first round of cuts too.  Just because Meyer felt some sense of obligation to him or whatever.  But with the film being out there of his "blocking prowess" from their game last week, it was going to be pretty hard to justify cutting someone else instead of him.  When you awkwardly whiff on the guy you are supposed to block and then stumble into your own man, that kind of video would not make Meyer look good for keeping him around another week.

This just reminded me of their QBs taken in the draft since Chad Pennington and wow this does not bode well for Zach Wilson.

What specifically does that have to do with the Jaguars either signing him as a TE or cutting him as a TE?   After all, that is what the thread is about.

. Sanchez started games after his two year run.  Tebow has not started a game since his playoff season.

Tebow was prevented from starting because he could not beat out Mark Sanchez for a starting job.

I repeat: someone get me Mark Sanchez immediately!

It wasn't because he didn't beat him out.  It's because Rex Ryan is a moron.  Tom Brady didn't beat out Drew Bledsoe for the starting position either.

It's an indication of how pathetic our team is.

Sanchez was starting.  Therefore, Sanchez beat him.  Q.E.D.

Sadly, this doesn't even cover the depth of Tebow's failure, because after Sanchez was benched, Greg McElroy got the start over Tebow.  Then, after McElroy had to sit with a concussion, Sanchez was put back in as the starter for the final game of the season.

Wrong.  Brady beat Bledsoe for a starting position twice: once when Bledsoe recovered from his injury and Belichick kept Brady as the starter, and AGAIN after Brady got hurt in the playoffs and Bledsoe won the AFC Championship Game, then Brady was declared the starter for the Super Bowl.

No, that means Rex Ryan choose him.  Hence Rex Ryan is a moron.
