Wondering what everyone thinks should be the goals moving forward since the playoffs seem to be out of reach at this point.

My bottom line goal is simply to be better than SF in the record department or at the very have a good enough record that phily doesn't have a top 10. I would like to continue to see if tua can stay healthy for the rest of the year and keep improving.

Develop Tua.
That's basically it.

I would also like MIA to finish a better record than SF, but that isn't really in the Dolphins' control.  Ultimately, as disgruntling as handing over a top pick to the Eagles might feel, we're better off rooting for SF losses than MIA wins at this point.

Dan you and I disagree pretty often in the "Off Topic" board, but I think we have found our common ground in football.  LOL    I'm right there with you in your comments about SF and Miami and the goals you identified for the Dolphins the rest of the way through the season.

Just develop the young guys, there are no other possible goals since the playoffs are out of the picture. While some guys could take the ball and run with it, it's hard to do with our current coaching. We're still throwing Jesse Davis out there while Hunt plays RG and Kindley is on the bench. No point in playing veterans when you are now 2-7.

The same thing at the end of 2007, 2011, 2015, 2018, and every other year that the coaching staff is on the hot seat.   Focus on developing the younger guys because they are auditioning for the new regime.

Problem is coaching staff wnats to end the year going 4-4 so they can say they have momentum and deserve another shot. In theory, easier doing that with veterans than developing younger guys.

Score more than 17 pts per game (which is Miami's average), EVERY remaining game.  And beat the J-E-T-S both times they play them.
