THE ASSCLOWN AWARD

« on: September 01, 2022, 12:59:06 pm »

How is everybody's situation?

We are still in the middle of the worst drought in Massachusetts history.  Most towns have issued "water bans".  (How you enforce those bans is beyond me).

How is the situation in everybody's state?

South Florida here:

Everything is pretty good.  We've been getting decent rain.  I have some shitty medical stuff I have to deal with, I'm getting solar panels put in next week, but in terms of climate and stuff -- it's hot, but starting to turn the corner a little bit away from the blistering heat, we're getting rain, and it's just a matter of keeping an eye out for hurricanes.  We haven't had a real one in a few years, so we are due.

Northern Arizona here... Monsoon season has brought a lot of rain the past 30-45 days. Everything is green...local lakes are almost at normal levels.

Pretty freaking easy.  Enforcement officer sees you watering your lawn, they write a ticket.

I'm in upstate NY and it's been a dry summer, my lawn and all the local golf courses are burnt out.  The upside is I haven't mowed my lawn in two months because the only thing growing has been the weeds.  We have gotten some rain in the past 7 days so it's time to mow this weekend.  The rivers are super low, but it is still hurricane season and they usually push up here this time of year and dump lots of rain.

We have water restrictions here and there in Florida.  Ours are usually related to time of day, like you can only water before 6 AM or whatever.

They just have patrol officers doing their regular rounds and they write tickets to violations.  It's not uncommon.  We have good rain now, so it's not an issue, but in the past, I've seen it.

I'm in SE Connecticut and the weather here has been spectacularly good this whole summer. It was 55 when i walked my kid to the school bus stop and it'll get into the mid 70s around noon.
We've had a drought so i haven't cut my lawn in almost a month but we just recently got some rain so it's looking like it needs it now.

Trees are starting to turn to fall colors here and there so you know that season is right around the corner.
