I've seen this in a few places but copied this one. Apparently they are done with the current format and will be doing skllls competition like they did in the 80s and 90s. I like that idea.

I'm told the NFL is replacing the Pro Bowl with the "Pro Bowl Games" - a week of skills competitions for AFC-NFC players culminating with a flag football game at Allegiant Stadium on Feb. 5. Peyton Manning's

will be involved. Peyton will also coach in the flag game.

I may get flamed for this but, Im actually glad they are doing away with the exhibition side of the pro bowl game itself and once again bringing back the skills competitions like they used back in the day.  Well on paper that what it sounds like. It cant hurt the competition committee to experiment with something n see if it sticks.  Its probably been about 10 yrs for me even engaging in the pro bowl and I was vacationing in Hawaii at the time so I had a chance to see it up close in 2012.

I expected people to bitch, but it's good to see us all supporting this so far.  I am in agreement.  The Pro Bowl was a farce.  Skills competition has always been the cooler part of it.  The game sucks and nobody wants to get hurt.

I still think that having it in the in-between week of the Super Bowl is probably better, but I know a lot of people didn't like it.

A hidden benefit of this change, I believe, will be increased legitimacy of "Pro Bowl" rosters.  I don't think you'll see as many players sitting out, nor will you need to reach down to the depths of a Mac Jones or a Mitch Trubisky to fill the Pro Bowl teams.
