How can you be anything but furious if you're a Texans fan? Absolutely meaningless win that hurts your franchise. I don't expect the players to ever lie down, but I do expect the fans to know how awful that was. Jets missed out on Trevor Lawrence over a similar worthless win.

Their only saving grace may be that the Bears keep the pick and draft defense since Justin Fields doesn't deserve to be replaced. Then, they'll have their choice of Bryce Young or CJ Stroud. Either way, they're going QB without a Godfather offer for their pick.

My Bears friend tells me the Bears already have a boatload of picks in the first 4 rounds, and lots of cap space.  They have a young GM who came from KC, if he can draft well they could have a big turnaround in the next couple years.

That seems like a bit of a stretch. The Bears have an extra 4 and an extra 5 in the 2023 draft...and no 6. They will have a decent amount of cap room, but they will have a lot of spots to fill. Since Chicago is sitting solid with Fields at QB, their best bet seems like it would be to deal that #1 to one of the other top-10 teams that is desperately in need of a QB.

Yeah, make the choice the Falcons should've made 2 years ago when they took Pitts as if they were a team that was one piece away. Some QB needy team will give them many firsts and seconds to move up to #1 as the QB prospects look like legitimate ones.

Seahawks got the #5 pick from Denver and their own. Lions got the #6 and their own at 18. Lions could make some noise next season as the Green Bay era appears to be over, the Bears are far from contending and the Vikings are not unstoppable. Players love Dan Campbell, they will be hungry for the playoffs.

I think Lovie knew his outcome already and this was his last FU. No one can be that stupid. Chicago will do very well when they trade this pic away.

He probably gave them the "Major League" speech where they will all be traded away or released after the game, so why not screw over management with a win?
