We went 9-8 and competed, and almost won, against a Super Bowl favorite in the playoffs. Do you think this was a successful season or does the losses in the second half of the season taint that? Does the fact we still don't know if we have our QB taint it? There were a lot of variables to digest for sure. What say you?

I voted yes. I said I would be happy with a competitive playoff game before the season started and we got that for the most part. Not bad for the 1st year for a head coach. Next year I want a playoff win. Failing that will be a negative in my opinion.

I said "it's complicated".

Tua's health and what becomes of this situation, I think it matters a lot.

McDaniel is great, though.

I believe before the season, I said a playoff win was the bar.

I did vote "Yes" without the win.  If the playoff game played out exactly the same but the Dolphins' QB that day was wearing #1, I probably would have answered "No."

I voted yes.

McDaniel achieved most of the goals that I set for Flores in what turned out to be his final year - we made the playoffs, Tua vastly improved (before his concussions) and we matched up and won a game against Buffalo who was the ultimate measuring stick in our division (and for that matter, the conference). While we did not win a playoff game, it was close enough for me with a rookie head coach.

I'm also hesitant to call a season a success outright when we're firing coaches in the off-season.

Same record as the prior year, and 1 fewer win than the year before that.  Just lucky that other teams had some losses which allowed Miami to squeak into the playoffs.  Last year Miami was at least playing strong at the finish.  Given the talent that was added this was a step backwards, not a big step back, but disappointing none the less.

I would say it's complicated because it was a strange ride but if you'd have given these reuslts to me preseason I would have taken it. I had to step back to see it but I do think overall it was a successful season in many ways.

Let me also say this:

Watching the "Tua is not a top 20 QB" and "Davis Mills is a better QB than Tua" idiots in the media continually eat shit for the first 13 weeks of the season has to be the most satisfying experience I can remember in my time following the Dolphins.  It was incredibly fun every week to read Twitter and watch YouTube just to see these knuckleheads slowly forced to eat a giant plate of crow week by week.

Really is complicated. We showed that we could hang and beat any team in the NFL and had the best QB in the league. On the other hand, we went 9-8, our QB has brain worms and cemetery's have healthier bodies.

So, certainly a mixed bag. Disappointment but very optimistic for next season.

Meh we didn’t finish strong under Flores really, when it mattered we got blown out by Buffalo.

The December demise was certainly unfortunate but when the playoffs were on the line we won.  There were many times this year when previous dolphins teams just folded where we fought even if we lost. That says a lot to me.

That said it is complicated, the collapse was very concerning and before the season I said a playoff win, but I was very pleased with how we played against Buffalo in the wild card and I think that’s encouraging. In the end this is gonna be about what happens with Tua. Can he he stay healthy and be consistent for a full year? If he is I think we are all set.

I voted yes because the team as a whole progressed over last year.

However, the delay of game penalties this year and in the Bills game specifically have me worried. Every time I've seen a press conference or interview with McDaniel. I say to myself, "That dude is high AF". Then the cameras caught him with what appeared to be him vaping something on the sidelines last week? I don't think I've seen anyone smoke anything in a stadium since I was a kid. I would assume that any kind of smoking in a stadiums would be illegal. And if it was a vape, was it a regular vape? THC? Delta 8?

I'm not saying he's high during games. But then again, it would make sense and account for the burning of the play clock and wasted TOs this year. I can 100% attest that with past usage of smoking pot and current usage of delta 8 gummies. Keeping track of time and being scatterbrained is totally a real thing. Do they even drug test coaches?

I second this, but I'd like to add that it was particularly entertaining when they doubled down and refused to eat crow.  The pile of crow just kept getting bigger and bigger.

This also happened to Dolphins fans friends of mine where I had to get texted every time Tua's TD pass had a guy come back for the ball.  But the height of my experience came in the comeback Ravens game when I was shit-talked through text all game, only to have him throw 5 TDs.
