The Giants offered him a $12 Million a year extension during the season and he turned it down. The Franchise Tag for RB should be around $10.1 Million.

No one pays running backs anymore because they break down quickly and can be replaced for cheap. Cowboys will have to cut or restructure the Elliott deal already. With the cost of every position going up, he should take the deal or regret it within 2 years.

And as the media likes to generate hits, I just read that Miami is a possible landing spot for Barkely next year, which means absolutely nothing.  I think he stays with the Giants, he is an important part of their offense.

It seems like it could be the first step into being traded if you ask me. Is he happy in New York?

He is a free agent, but they will franchise tag him if they can't sign him long term. They're a good for for each other, but he wants McCaffery money and that ain't happening. 3 years is any running back's max deal so iuf he holds out for big bucks he will be franchised and is rolling the dice. He has a mediocre 2023 and his next contract will be 1 year/$7 Million.

Aaron Jones of Green Bay agreed to have his salary reduced from $20 Million to $11 Million. On a YPC basis, Jones was almost a full yard better than Saquon. To make matters worse for him, Daniel Jones is switching agents because he doens't like where contract talks are going with the Giants, so they will likely use the franchise tag on him. Meaning, they won't have much money for Saquon and there just doesn't appear to be many suitors who are going to give him what he wants.

When will running backs understand they play the most replaceable position on the field? The drop from number 4 to number 15 isn't even 300 yards and that's only because they ran him so much. His YPA is in the 20s and RB wear and tear is a very real thing. He must have a terrible agent or family circle if they told him to reject $12 Million a year. He won't be seeing that now.
