Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey has been traded to the Dolphins for a 2023 third-round pick and tight end Hunter Long, per ESPN..

Thoughts?

Is he going to replace X or play opposite him?
I would assume opposite, from what i gather he's replacing Jones. But maybe they will replace X also, so maybe not. But being a Dolphins fan for 40+ years it wouldn't surprise me...

Actually I'm more surprised they gave up Hunter Long to get him. Obviously they must not have been that high on him.

Where did you see that?

I saw that Ramsey agreed to the trade because we guaranteed his salary the next 2 seasons. Guess he had a no trade or limited no trade, that's why the Rams got so little. Is Hunter Long even a bonus or they took him over a 7th round pick?

EDIT: I found what you meant. The Rams are going to eat almost $20 Million in dead cap money this year by trading him before June.

I'm pretty sure this ends the conversation about Poyer coming to Miami, but I'd rather have X/Ramsey/Holland/Brandon Jones with Kohou in the nickel than X/Kohou/Holland/Poyer with Needham in the nickel.

Kohou was an unsung hero for us last season, he played amazing for an UDFA. We will need to find more of these guys in the draft to replenish the ranks because we are a team of superstars now.

I love to see teams in Go Big or Go Home-mode.

Jalen Ramsey is a great get for Miami...still has several years of pro bowl-caliber play let in him.

Hope he brings a little of that swagger with him as well...

Hunter Long has 1 catch in 2 seasons. Pretty sure they weren't very high on him to begin with.

Poyer is a safety so still in play.

Players are wanting to come to Miami these days. Ramsey gave them a discount to be here. Said he's been praying about being here for the last month and a half. this seems to be the place to be right now for a lot of players.

-Team is a contender in Win Now mode
-Beloved Head Coach
-Beautiful Weather and Women
-No state income tax

No better landing spot in the NFL right now than this one.

We should have Trill Williams back also. What little we saw of him, he seemed to be progressing well.

I understand but I'm assuming that Gesicki is gone and I assumed that Hunter Long would get more work next year, but maybe I'm wrong and the offense doesn't really feature a pass catching TE at all so maybe they are happy with running back Smythe and Shaheen. I just figured a TE that could do more than block was maybe important? I guess I should have known better based on how they used Gesicki.

+1

They just aren't going to throw the ball to tight ends, makes it easier on opposing teams. SMH

I'm just not sure that MIA has more money to spend on DBs with holes still left to fill.  Keeping Brandon Jones seems like the more cost-effective option.
