THE ASSCLOWN AWARD

« on: September 12, 2024, 11:57:13 pm »

1) This is PRECISELY why I said they should not extend Tua.  This will be his last season in the NFL.  No way he can come back after yet another concussion.  Also, I don't blame him for the loss.  One of the interceptions was bad luck, and on the pick six, he was pressured and trying to throw the ball away.

2) I agree with McDaniel's decision-making ALMOST 100%.  He went for it when he should have.  I also agree with him taking out Waddle and Hill.  No point risking injury to them so early in the season.  This is going to be a playoff dogfight season, and they need both of them to be healthy to have a chance.  The only thing I disagree with is the play calling, when Skylar came in.  Two running plays in a row.

3) Skylar cannot be the guy.  We saw what happened in 2022.  He beat the awful Jets without leading his team to a touchdown.  I hope Tua can come back and make his last season in the NFL count by reaching the playoffs again.

4) If not for Tua's injury, I would not be overreacting.  This happened to them last season as well.  The Bills are just a much better team than Miami.  It's like the Brady years, only now we have to deal with Josh Allen, and Miami just can't seem to find a way to beat him, the way they could with Brady.  Unlike the Brady years, Miami has reached the playoffs, however

5) Speaking of Brady, I hope they try to lure him out of retirement.

6) The defense needs to do better.  Yes, the offense was turning the ball over, but to be a playoff quality team, your defense needs to step up and make stops.  They failed to do that at critical times.  However, again, this is against a Super Bowl contender.

7) I saw the second half, but not the first half.  How were Tyreek and Waddle doing getting open deep?

Cool Miami has only two quarterbacks on their roster.  That should change this week.

9) Coaches are definitely being more aggressive in the NFL this year.  The Bills started it right off the bat by going for it.

10) The Dolphins punted only once the entire game

11) I think they will have to sweep the Patriots and Jets this year.

12) I don't understand why they are so flat on Thursday night games

Thursday night games need to be abolished, except for opening week and Thanksgiving.   They do nothing but cause a huge inconvenience for teams and put guys at risk of getting hurt.

The six teams that play on Thanksgiving should have their bye week the week before.  And none of them should be the ones playing overseas

Agreed 100 I hate TNF but it never going away now. I hate the 17 game schedule. I hate the idea of 18 games.

Honestly the NFL has been in decline for years. I’m glad my local NBA team is good.

Yep.  Putting Tua on IR signifies waving the white flag

I find this situation near impossible to talk about because, as fans, we just don't know.  I don't know Tua's true intentions, what the Dolphins have in mind, nor what the doctors say is best.  It's like trying to solve a problem with three variables.
