As you all know, I have been a hardcore Tua defender since before the draft. I am still confident that he was talented enough to lead this team to victory. But he's mentally not salvageable... Flores just did too much damage.

The one time I have ever been angry with and disappointed in Tua was the game he returned from the Cincinnati concussion, against Pittsburgh. He tried to run over a PIT defender for no good reason. I was furious.

Tonight, MIA was down by 3 TDs and it was the third quarter. Tua had gotten the yardage for the first down! All he had to do was slide! But for some reason, he is compelled to try to prove again and again how tough he is (likely because of the narrative around him). And in an injury-prone QB with a history of concussions, that is a flaw that you cannot work around. It's always going to be a matter of time before he gets himself hurt again doing something dumb. It's heartbreaking to see, but I hope Tua retires for his own safety. It was an exciting run, for what it's worth.

Given the contracts the team handed out this offseason, the best move I can see right now is throwing some draft capital at PIT to pry away whichever of Wilson or Fields the Steelers will part with.

Take a swing on Trey Lance? Idk what’s next. I don’t know if I can do another rebuild another coaching change. It just never stops.

I’m not gonna say he should retire now but man these concussions are dangerous and he seriously needs to consider it.

Nightmare of a night.

I hate Thursday night games I hate them with a passion .

As much as Flores sucked he was right we should have went with Herbie

Maybe Flores just saw what many had blinders to. I was on record saying Tua would never play a full season. He has proven me wrong by playing one.

As a judge of talent, Flores was unquestionably terrible.  He had a young QB capable of leading in the league in passer rating one year and yardage the next, and he preferred Ryan Fitzpatrick.

God bless Tua. I hope he retires and saves his brain.

I am not a doctor so I feel grossly unqualified to have an opinion.  Whatever his choice is, I hope it's decisive and that he does what is best for himself.  And if it means he never plays another down, I understand and support it.  I would rather know that have this drag on for the remainder of the season and have a will he/won't he in perpetuity.

My opinion is he was trying to make something happen partly because of the 3 INT's that happened earlier in the game. His desire to put the team on his back is greater than his ability to realize that one play isn't gonna make a difference. Slide. Throw the ball away. Run out of bounds. Whatever you have to do. You are too small to be taking on NFL players head first. You have to be smarter than that.

Having said that, I'm still of the opinion that a lot of QB's could be successful in this offense if given a decent chance. Skylar may not be one of them but I hope they give him a chance now. Tua should sit for at least 4 weeks and Skylar should be given the keys and see what he can do. If that means changing the offense a bit toward something that's better fitting for Skylar, they should do it, they have enough time till he starts. They can switch back when Tua is completely recovered and has a week or two of practice time.

I'm not a doctor either but I do know this.   You can have an unlimited number of concussions and not suffer brain damage as long as you fully recover from each one before getting another one.    Sometimes it takes several weeks for a concussion to heal.   Why Tua would retire after this is beyond me.  He's still young and fully capable of making a recovery.   What he did on that play was about as dumb as you can imagine and the Dolphins will now pay a terrible price for it.

Would you mind citing your source for this?  This seems unintuitive and against what I've been led to believe so far, but am open to new info.

I know we know more than we did now but Aikman had 10 concussions. I think the calls for him to retire while well meaning are hasty at this point.

I will support the man with whatever he decides.

Multiple health outlets state this.  The problem is, repeated head trauma has to be factored in as a cause of CTE.   And by that, I mean hits to the head that don't cause concussions.

Tua will be back at some point this season.  Mark my words.

Ok great.  If there are a lot of outlets supporting it, are you able to cite something I can read to verify?
