Tua needs to retire before he kills himself or becomes paralyzed. This last one wasn't even a hard hit, he hit the guy's shoulder pad and his neck and head bounced around like Jello. There are running backs with worse hits ten times per game who don't get concussions.
He needs to seriously change or he is going to have a very, very short career.
I read he was the main motivator for the comeback against the Jags, so it is a sign that he is a real competitor and willing to lead by example to get a win...
But this is getting into Steve Young territory way to quickly for my liking. It's less so brave and more just stupid to put himself into that kind of danger, and each concussion is an acceleration to what will be the end of it all.
Maybe last season with the extra helmet padding and no issues built a false sense of security, but that is all gone now. Tua is basically a target when he comes back, hit him hard legally, get him on the ground, and that will scramble his brain again. We're not even talking about dirty hits here, just regular plays.
You just know he needs an extended time away, a good part of, or possibly even the rest of the season. Unless Skyler turns into Brady 2.0, this is going to hurt the team.
Another serious concussion on top of this though would have to be it - endgame. That's the alternative, and after all the guaranteed money in the recent contract, would we go there?
